If they hadn't found him competent to make decisions, he couldn't have cut a deal and gotten his autism deferral. They just hold you indefinitely until you're capable of meaningfully assisting in your own defense.

It appears that Danderson has been transferred to the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (which explains his Springfield, Missouri transfer on Christmas Eve).

That's because while Chris believes he's in a sexual relationship with a fictional character, he can still understand the charges that are being brought forth, who the people in the court are and what their functions are, what he was being charged with and he had an ability to clearly communicate with his defense.

The problem with Daniel is that he doesn't really know what the fuck is going on. We are 8 months into this and despite being told otherwise by both trolls, law enforcement and his own legal defense, he thinks the entire case is a conspiracy to keep him away from Grace and destroy his career. Everyone is doing things behind his back and there's literally no recognition for what he's done and what the actual charges of the case are. At this point he can't even understand what his charges are and he can't communicate how he wants to proceed with his case without mentioning Grace, who has nothing to do with this. This is a very deep seated delusion, I would be surprised if they deemed him competent to stand trial when he matches 75% of the criteria for people who are deemed incompetent for trial.

The best ending would be him getting euthanized. He's never going to be a functioning member of society, only a burden draining resources until he eventually dies any way. I don't think there's even any research value in studying him.

Plus he gets what he needs. The guy was infested with parasites and losing teeth at a sustainable rate. Ultimately, he was never someone who should have had the independence he did. And now he gets 3 square meals a day, a warm bed and a chance to live a life free of ween abuse.
