First time making a thread. Jon Matter, aka DarkMatter2525, is one definitely one of the more euphoric atheists I've come across. Up there with the likes of the Amazing Atheist, he makes animations that are best summed up as a series of strawmen sprinkled with ad hominem. Oh, and their quality makes Allen Gregory look like Hayao Miyazaki. He uses stereotype after stereotype in an attempt to demonize people who happen to be religious, and all this fear propaganda is eaten up by those who may not know better. He is the living embodiment of the dunning kruger effect. Also, he's just obsessed with religion, God, and how the two are "the greatest evil to ever exist", with every new video spewing the same shit over and over again. Darkmatter2525 was surprising to see because I remember him back when I watched TJ. There was a commonly suggested video "What if Adam and Eve didn't eat the fruit?" and it was of about the same quality as his current work. Like, nothing has changed. Still flash animated, still very crude walking cycles, no third dimension or shading to the drawings what so ever and audio quality is fucking abysmal.

To my surprise, however, he has not stopped making videos and has a massive audience.

Oh, I remember this guy. I remember watching his videos back when I used to be one of those guys that liked the Amazing Atheist unironically (I was very dumb a long time ago).

I don't recall any drama from him personally, but I basically remember him as having TJ's arguments in animation form, which just got pretty boring as time went on.

Eh, there are worse euphoric atheists out there. I agree the animation quality's pretty shonky but it's still better than anything I can do. I don't remember any drama from this guy beyond the usual atheist shtick. Personally wouldn't class him as a lolcow. The obsession with huge tits in his videos is more than a little distracting though, and not in a good way.

I remember watching some of his videos a while back. Yes, his animations are "interesting" (As in trying to make something deep and meaningful out of a child's kindergarten drawing), but I wouldn't consider him a lolcow. Maybe a bit on the obsessed side, but nothing lolcow worthy.

I don't know, maybe I fail at acknowledging his lolcow qualities. I know I wouldn't donate to his patreon for sure.

I don't know if I'd call him a lolcow. Euphoric yes. Definitely Euphoric. But I don't see anything really lolcowish about him.

Sure he makes crappy videos with little substance and fills them with strawman Christians but has he chimped out or shown any other lolcow traits?

There was drama between him and an amateur Christian internet "philosopher" known as “The Cartesian Theist”. This took place during 2011 through 2013.




Cartesian Theist was a Christian sperg who pretty much thought that atheistic philosophy hasn't evolved since the days of the Baron d'Holbach and held eccentric philosophical beliefs. He also had a sock puppet army that he used to harass people that disagreed with him. So, the drama can be summed up as two autists sperging at each other regarding their shitty and inept philosophies.
