Dam, i am so jealous of Phils christmas day, nothing but food, being lazy, play games and watch YT...

1. If this was the first time in a long time that he and Kat got to spend the entire day together, who is the Kat he does things with once every week when he has a day off?

Phil wouldn't go to a funeral. He would do a $4k begathon to raise funds to bury one of his parents however and then take a week off for uuh family matters.

DSP was really trying to make his 
s throw money at him for the privilege of asking him about how his Christmas was. Outside of a handful of regulars who would have cheered/tipped anyway, people didn't really care that much so it didn't really work. DSP then decided to up the pressure a bit to prep the s for the iNteRacTiVe late stream (PUBG).
Side note: him saying he doesn't want to use pre-stream to talk about a certain subject because people would be bringing it up during gameplay anyway so he would be repeating himself is complete and utter bullshit, and a bad excuse. Why even have a pre-stream then? What's the point? His viewers bring up subjects that he has talked about in length during pre-stream and he's repeating himself constantly every single day anyway. Why is this a problem all of a sudden?
I can't find the specific clip at the moment, but he did mention that he immediately gets "hit hard" (or something) money-wise after not streaming for two days. He also did something he, to my knowledge at least, hasn't done very often lately: cheer/sub shaming. Someone was gifting a sub and another person was cheering, so when DSP reacted to this, he did his shameless "Tipping me helps me the most right now"-thing the very moment people were literally throwing money at him...
All of this looked very much like a pathetic attempt from Twitch's very own televangelist to milk his viewers for some extra cash, tbh.

Makes sense. Per usual, he probably hasn't planned for the start of January, and now he has the state taxes coming up. If he really spent some of that $2000 on his "tax attorney", then he's going to need to make up that difference too. Now's usually when he starts looking ahead to his federal taxes as well. Should be interesting to see whether he's stayed on top of them this year (
) or whether he'll attempt to top the $17k bill from last year.
