@Mooger Meng reply isn't working but the Tertium Tardwrangler is so fucking good I made a Vet just for that name.
Reporting for duty, SAH!

Glad to be of service! If he isn't running with squads of Ogryn, he just isn't living up to the name.
Also, his pay is still going to suck, lol.
It's great to watch them burn through their new audience after spurning VT niggas. Silly that it was something as gay as the premium currency that might have done it though. While it's funny to clown on the cash shop being feature complete at launch while the rest of the game was super glue and toothpicks, it's also completely secondary to the real problems the game faces/faced. A part of me thinks a lot of the discourse surrounding the cash shop right after launch was deliberately instigated and fueled by FS staffers gunning for distraction ops.
I don't think being angry over the cash shop was/is just a meme. Choosing to put so much effort into that over keeping the game as a whole stable and enjoyable is a symptom of the rot. Not the root cause, sure, but it spoke volumes about where their priorities were at the time (and likely, continue to be now).

I've been out of the loop for almost a year. I had no idea the numbers dipped that low. Games as a service by the way lmao.
Oh,
wow. I hadn't looked at the numbers, either, but that January drop is brutal. I can certainly believe that crossplay got shoehorned in because they panicked over it.
Just spitballing here, but maybe if you lazy assholes didn't release a rickety piece of shit and drug your feet on attempting to remedy the many technical problems your players had, we wouldn't have gotten to this sad state of affairs.
Thinking on it a little more, it's frustrating because this is the closest 40K has to a casual, pick-up-and-play multiplayer game. Sure, the mechanics are fairly in-depth, but up till about Medium difficulty you can not worry over every autistic detail and just get by, as long as you have a decent build and most of your neurons are firing. Leave Hard and V Hard for those who want to really dig in to the minutiae of the game and their builds, tone down the RNG on the crafting, shore up the engine/netcode so it's not as much of a mess on the technical side... If that were the state of things to begin with, I don't think it would have imploded like it had.
And, yeah, I understand that the initial skill trees were a carbon copy of the ones from
Vermintide 2 since that was all they had to work with, but hey,
all of the Ubersriek Five had a full compliment of classes when their game released. Having to wait near on to a year to turn your shooty Vet into Merc Kruber is a
wee bit of a blunder.
