I've been reading as much as I can about this disaster for the past couple of days. It's just such a train wreck that I can't look away.
Rumor has it that there's already going to be a DashCon 2015, and they've chosen Indianapolis as the lucky city. More specifically, they're looking at getting the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium to hold the event.
Yes. A football stadium.
Because you know that the attendance up in Schaumburg this past weekend totally justifies it. Also, that $17,000 that the DashCon organizers raised on the first day wasn't used to pay the hotel; supposedly, most of it was used to secure the venues in Indianapolis next summer. Regardless, a lot of attendees won't be seeing any of their money again, even if refunds were basically promised.
On the bright side, you sure can put a gigantic ball pit on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium! (Not to mention the orgies in the luxury suites...)
