And DashCon, citizens, is the perfect example of Tumblr's actions(or lack thereof) to actually prove what they are worth. So, social justice my ass and equality my taint. :lol:

They can't even organize a small convention to save their lives.
 
Good god. I'd heard about Dashcon last night, but...

Yeah. This is why I tend to not go to conventions. The only case I think I ever will again is if a friend of mine, who is an experienced con organizer, needs me to visit for a few days to be an extra set of hands. Because then at least I wouldn't be paying to get in.

I think this is less how he perceived the con and more that he's a self-promoting Professional Homo and does nothing of interest except gab about how gay he is at cons. He's just saving face because he's invested. He even brushed off the $17k theft because everything else "looked normal." :alog:
 
I've been reading as much as I can about this disaster for the past couple of days. It's just such a train wreck that I can't look away.

Rumor has it that there's already going to be a DashCon 2015, and they've chosen Indianapolis as the lucky city. More specifically, they're looking at getting the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium to hold the event.

Yes. A football stadium.

Because you know that the attendance up in Schaumburg this past weekend totally justifies it. Also, that $17,000 that the DashCon organizers raised on the first day wasn't used to pay the hotel; supposedly, most of it was used to secure the venues in Indianapolis next summer. Regardless, a lot of attendees won't be seeing any of their money again, even if refunds were basically promised.

On the bright side, you sure can put a gigantic ball pit on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium! (Not to mention the orgies in the luxury suites...)
 
So they start a business and insist on paying everyone through paypal on likely short notice?
 
$20 these Tumblr SJW's will say that the DashCon was a trainwreck of a failure and blaming it on patriarchy, sexism, cultural appropriation, misogyny and other buzzwords in the book?! Come on people, place your bets!

I have a question. I don't know how much does an average price of a meal that can be purchased in a convention but can you crunch in the numbers on how many people can be fed with $17k based on what a usual convention serves their guests when it comes to food?

Then someone works up the guts to speak and everyone goes "OMG SPEAKING IS MY TRIGGER I'M TRANSMUTE CHECK YOUR VERBAL PRIVILEGE YOU RAPIST SCUM!!!". Then another person tries to get up and they all go "WHAT ARE YOU DOING I IDENTIFY AS PARAPLEGIC AND STANDING UP IS CRIPPLESHAMING CHECK YOUR PRIVILEGE YOU CISHET RAPE ENABLER!!!!" and so on.
