Settling is often cheaper than hiring an attorney or doing everything you've said. Giving Stabbins $1800 over 18 months is cheaper than dealing with bullshit motions, going to LA and then paying him $450 after a Jury verdict, and it's a lot cheaper than hiring an attorney. The cash terms are actually reasonable, the requirements to maintain a net worth below $5,000 or pay $10,000 right away are batshit insane though.

I have primary familial contacts and addresses in Belize and Iceland. Why shouldn’t everyone be the same? I don’t live in either place but I can easily switch my mailing address to be so. It’s cheap! I think and say everyone should invest in fucking with the enemy. Through personal experience island governance and tribal chiefs are easily accommodating regarding incoming cash flow investment.

Agreed. Beside the fact that (imo) this entire settlement is way beyond the actual monetary "injury" suffered, the $10k liquidated damage clause seems very bizarre. And for all my squinting at the settlement minutes, I feel like the details seem very vague: is it just a one-time snapshot of his net worth that has to be provided within the next 6 months, or is it a "net worth landmine" that triggers if his net worth ever exceeds $6k within the next 6 months? And if in the case of the latter, how onerous can David be in terms of ascertaining Jones' net worth? Can he demand a detailed account every day and complain to the court if Jones' accounting doesn't satisfy him?
