You have to also consider the USSR wasn't exactly too worried about quality control in the 40s and which rifles reached the civilian market. Same problem plaques the Arisaka. It has a reputation for being a piece of shit in the States because the milsurp market was flooded with rifles produced in some guy's garage while being firebombed. The K98k is great; The eastern front captures produced in late '44? Ehh..
Yep, some of the Japanese last ditch rifles were absolutely TRASH
Rifle is fine. There are numerous reasons why Mauser-styled actions have proliferated far farther in the modern day than anything even remotely resembling the mosin's action, but its not like say, the Nambu 94 pistol where the design and engineering is complete dogshit.
I've only handled an Argie Mauser personally as far as vintage mauser actions, but the handling of the bolt compared to the mosin is just... so crisp and smooth. With the mosin its almost a requirement that you will have to palm that handle in order to get enough force to roll it back into lock. I can work the mauser with one finger.

My brother has a '43 Izhesvk and the difference in workmanship between that and my '38 is night and day. Toolmarks and gouges everywhere, some of the roughest machining passes you will see this side of the Khyber Pass. Tolerances might as well have been in whole inches instead of thousandths.
I have a 1943 Izzy that's.... Good enough. Not as nice as a mid to late 1930s one but not awful and it shoots minute of man.

Speaking of guns, did Piggy get BTFO and cancel his AK video completely?

is an iconic weapon but the Army was never entirely happy with it
Every British center fire produced by state arsenals

Tbf I don't think we ever had a hard confirm on that, we just really, really wanted it to happen. His next video going to be THE definitive work on the life of Col. Boyd. Eat shit, Coram.

Immigration still asks about any communist sympathy/memberships. Though I doubt it is a hard denied like it used to be.

USCIS doesn’t ask this anymore. My wife is Chinese and I was certain they would ask during her green card interview (or at some point in the application), but the whole immigrations process is pretty much geared around preventing immigrations fraud, such as marrying solely for a visa, etc.

Your immigration guy might have skipped stuff depending on how recent/long ago it was. But my experience was that it is still asked.

The Mosin is not a bad rifle for what it is. I'd argue it's also probably the only bolt-action milsurp rifle that's still (relatively) cheap to acquire and with readily available ammo.
Nah, motherfuckers want 400+ for the fucking things and 54r spam cans dried up years ago. Spend the extra money to get either a Springfield or a Garand, 30-06 is actually available and they're better rifles. But milsurp dried up years ago, just give it up.

Unfortunately, you're right. I've seen insane tards asking for over $800 on some busted up SKS with a stock full of trench graffiti. If I was paying that much money, I'd want a genuine Russian-made SKS in good condition, or even one of those East German SKS models.

On a more optimistic note, we're also probably on the cusp of a lot of boomers with basements full of rifles their kids don't want dying. It's not the old days, but it's something. On the same note, if anyone wants a classic car you've got like ten to fifteen years to scrape together 75k.

That's something I've thought about, especially if the kids have little/no interest in guns and don't know or care to know what those rifles are really worth.

M1 Garand on the cheap, here I come!

It's more than likely dead in the water because he's afraid of getting ripped apart by the gun community.

RIP Mosin market.

I understand that USCIS code still includes this, however it is not asked during the interview process and that’s not found anywhere on the I-190 or I-485.

A literal interpretation of the law isn’t taken into account by USCIS agents; if it were, literally 99.9% of Chinese nationals would be barred permanent residency in the United States, because only a very small minority don’t become Party members while still in high school.

Edit: fucking trannies making an entire paragraph disappear.

The interview is basically a formality. We have Chinese nationals who are friends who have gone through a similar interview for their own permanent residency; it is simply a quick interview to put eyes on whoever is asking for permanent residency. We were separated and I was asked five simple questions she had to come in after and confirm the answers for. At no time, even when we applied for the condition for her permanent residency to be removed, is her theoretical membership in the CCP ever brought up or questioned — and I’ve literally never heard this asked of any other Chinese national. Sure, if you’re working in a sensitive field related to national security.

You can order a shootable one to your front door, courtesy of the US government, for 800 bucks.
I appreciate the hell out the CMP but the hoops you have to jump through just for the privilege of purchasing from them is just annoying. Reminds me of the last gun show I went to and I ran into the most delightful boomer running his table of Garands. Politely asked if I was familiar with M1s, then gave me a quick demonstration of how to avoid Garand thumb and also why it happens (people just don't lock the bolt back fully and also don't use the damn op rod handle when reloading like they should), and then a showing of his wares. He even had individual cards with MOAs of each rifle listed. If I wasn't simply window shopping at the time I would've bought one just for how pleasant and passionate he was.

I'd wager its dead in the water because there is absolutely no way in Hell he can turn a video on the AK into a diatribe shitting on Russia, since the running themes that determine whether a video is made or not are "Can I take the piss out of Nazi Germany" or "Can I take the piss out of Russia". Mechanically rifle is fine, legendary even, and whilst there is always hyperbole with that sort of reputation at the end of the day it is still one of the most prolific rifle patterns in the history of firearms. Piggy just simply doesn't know enough to be able to meaningfully critique the design, which merely leaves the R&D portion to be misconstrued by him. Whilst Soviet weapons design bureau politics are a special kind of hell they're not even that out of the ordinary for MIC procurement shenanigans. Lest we forget-
His claims on the AK are even far more retarded than AK being an StG clone. According to his twitter he is going to claim that the AK is a Thompson clone designed by Kalashnikov's apprentice.
Credit where its due, Piggy didn't claim the AK was inspired by the Thompson.

He still fucking claimed that Kalashnikov had nothing to do with the design of his own goddamn rifle, sourced entirely from his booze addled brain that might as well be in an arms race with his asshole to see how much shit it can spew. I get it, fuck Russia, but for fuck's sake Pig you are clearly letting years of World of Tanks forum faggotry and a faggy Twitter hashtag actively dictate how you interpret actual history whilst pretending to be a serious historian.

Fully expecting that whatever video he makes on it repeats dumb cold war cliches about "hurr the soviets can't ever innovate, only copy" tier nonsense, because vlad's war has brought forward a lot of people repeating them in hopes that they are correct and explain things.

The sad part is all those chopped and dropped custom rides that nobody else wants

Don't get the rack grade CMP Garand. Pay the extra money for a service or expert grade. I kind of wish I got a service grade, but those were unavailable at the time of my order so I got an expert grade one instead.

Rack Grade Rifles. Most of these rifles have been refinished or rebuilt several times while in military service and will have some parts from other manufacturers. RACK GRADES ARE SOLD AS IS WITH NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES. Rifle wear will be exhibited by worn and mixed colors of the finish; there will be rust and pitting on the metal parts; wood will be basically sound but may be well used with minor hairline cracks, poor fit, many digs, scratches and gouges; wood may not match in color, type of wood or condition. These rifles may have some foreign parts and wood may be Walnut, Birch, Beech or other variety. Rifles do not have import marks. Bores will be dark and poor; the barrel crown may be nicked, and the muzzle may gauge more than “3” on muzzle gauge. The Throat Erosion may gauge more than “5”. The rifle is head spaced with a field guage and function fired. The overall appearance and condition of the rack grade will generally be rougher than any other grade. Fair condition.

Tell me about it. They had me photocopy my birth certificate, driver's license, social security, and hunter's license. Then I had to print all those out. Next I had to enter my credit card information on one of their forms which I also had to print out. Then I had to get another form notarized. Finally I had to stuff all that sensitive personal information into an envelope and pray to God my mail got to them safely. A few weeks later I got a confirmation email from them. Go figure.

Patreon post he posted showing what he's up to. Apparently he's gonna go full steam ahead with the AK video with the help of Forgotten Weapons allegedly. Also, says he's gonna do a video on cultural marxism (lol) and a video on Russian and Chinese tanks (can't wait)

I can't wait for a foreigner to tell me why I love guns so much. If he actually has people who know what they're talking about (who's Zack hazard?) Then I don't know how he's going to make a video about how the AK is the worst rifle ever made with a fraud inventor inspired by Nazi tech. Though I suspect he'll just lie about it.

Cultural Marxism, eh? Sounds like someone's becoming a BreadTuber soon, depending on how he spins it of course.

Suspect? It's going to be a guarantee he'll lie through his teeth about the AK.
