I'm surprised not much has been said about David Tanny. I mean good God. Everything he produces makes Sonichu look like a masterpiece. I'm sorry to resurrect such an old thread and not say much but, geeze, the guy is gonzo.
 
For whatever reason Tanny just didn't catch on in this forum like some lolcows.

There's a lot of info on Tanny on ED. He's been active on the internet since the mid-90's, so there's a lot of material to go through. But yeah, if Chris had an interest in novelty music, this is what we'd end up with. Well, Chris sort of is like Tanny: Hedgehog Boys, anyone?

I actually felt sorry for him the first time I heard about him. Sure, a teenage or 20-something lolcow isn't that pathetic, a lot of people that age are pretty goofy. But a guy in his 50's who's a loser is kinda sad, but then I saw him say "I'm an asshole, I wear it like a badge, deal with it" and other evidence of his enormous ego I didn't feel so sorry for him.

I forget what it's called and don't feel like searching it up, but another noteworthy mention is the one song where he, um.... starts a family with a 'three-legged woman'.

The musical genius of David Tanny was a minor topic of discussion between me and a friend of mine years back. For Christmas one year, I got him an empty Sega Dreamcast box filled with pirated Tanny CD's.


My personal favorite. The bassline gets me every time.

There's one where he's standing next to a car or something from his Facebook. My personal 'favorite' 'song' was already posted here, the Boy who Wished for too much.

Listening David talk about a little boy's :pickle: for four minutes made me wonder what the fuck was wrong with him on so many levels. Like, what would make someone actually think that was funny? Beyond that, who doesn't realize that talking about a kid jerking off in graphic detail isn't creepy as all hell?

I'll say it again. A fifty year old pizza delivery guy with no girlfriend, living alone or with his mother, telling a story about a little kid jerking off and getting a genie to magic said :pickle: until it grows and grows, eventually consuming the boy from the inside until the military is called in and use a picture of what I can only assume is some old actress to frighten the :pickle: into submission and stop the carnage. All the while in David's voice which seems to seep greasy intentions through any speakers

I think he's more cracked in the head than good old American 'tism accounts for.
 
I wish more was known about David's early days, pre internet. I always imagined he had a 9-5 job in the early 90s, but his behaviors causes him to be fired, and dude just snapped and spent the rest of his life on the Internet.

I like to think he has been at the same pizza place for years, never rising above more than a petty delivery man. He's probably been under like twelve different managers, and he's cool with never being more than a delivery guy because he goes home and creates what he believes is pure gold, whacks off to old eighties actresses, and probably writes slash fan fics about himself and Dr. Demento. I too would feel sorry for the guy as was previously mentioned in the thread but he really doesn't have any redeeming features.
