I don't understand why Black Adam got his own movie. Normies don't know who that character is. Even I barely do. He should have been introduced in a Shazam film. Only if that was successful should he have gotten a spinoff.
Dwayne’s ego is why the film got made and why he isn’t in Shazam. Part of why Dwayne got fired was due to how difficult he is to work with as, if YouTuber Anomaly Inc is correct, Dwayne has contracts to make it so that he can never lose a fight or really take damage in films he stars in. Some actors in Fast and The Furious placed these stipulations on their contract as to keep themselves looking cool, and Dwayne found out and has used them ever since. This is likely why he wasn’t in Shazam as Dwayne’s ego couldn’t take a child beating him. He was also selling a Black Adam cinematic universe to the public. Dwayne didn’t want to be part of DC, he wanted DC to be part of his brand.

How the hell DC continuously fails at cashing out on the Teen Titans cartoon is beyond me. Hell cashing in on teen titans go. How hard can it be to give fans a Raven and Starfire from the OG teen titans cartoon in mainstream DC comics? What DC did was make Cyberg the black guy in the Justice league and call it a day.
Cyborg being part of the JL always felt off. He has no dynamic with any of the members and is basically just tech support. He really was the team’s token black guy, when there are plenty of other black members that could have been raised up.

Stargirl wasn't too bad:
CW tends to have better casting than the DCEU in general. CW at least doesn't cast ugly people in roles like WB.
It's because it was The Rock's vanity project and attempt to set himself up as the main star of DC and declined cameos in Shazam films because he felt he was too good for that and wanted himself to be Superman's archenemy.
I'm going to laugh if Shazam 2 outperforms Black Adam at the box office. Personally, I think the Rock Star is declining while Dave Batista is rising. Despite how old Dave Bautista is. He can play more than one character, unlike rock.

The thing is, there are better black superheroes for DC to turn into a Justice League Tolkien black guy. DC didn't want to use black lighting because he had black in his name. Apart from me being surprised, they didn't reboot static shock and black lighting into the same character during New 52.

I don't get how people are just now getting sick of The Rock. I was a huge fan of his, but he just became too fucking insufferable over the past 5 years with all his fucking shilling on social media and such.

They could have did what the Injustice film did and had Mr. Terrific as the black man of the group. He surprisingly worked well from what I saw. Otherwise, the DCAU using Stewart was probably one of the smartest ways of handling it, only problem being that Hal is established in comics and Stewart would just be another Lantern.

CW making Mr Terrific gay for no reason probably killed any chance of him being taken seriously in any mainstream movie. Mr Terrific is one of the few characters canonically fucking power girl in the regular yet they made him gay for Woke points. I suspect Damian Wayne will become the default young Robin from now thanks to DC making Tim drake bisexual. Now Tim Drake's characters are nothing but gay.

I'm almost afraid to ask, but in that pregnant joker thing why the fuck does the joker have wonder woman bedsheets? Is it just a "lol-what, so random" thing or is it a repeated occurrence that I will need more bleach to remove from my head?

Don’t know why they didn’t make John Stewart as the black guy of the group. They could have worked off of that shitty Green Lantern movie intelligently and done that instead. Putting Cyborg in this group kills any chance of Teen Titans being shown in this universe. Never mind that we have a Cyborg in Doom Patrol. Is that supposed to be apart from this universe?

They could have just done what the Injustice games did. If you just imagined the story mode for Injustice 2 as a movie, it would be so much better than the Justice League movie we got.

He also acts the same way in every film now. Say what you can about Bautista and Cena, and there is a lot, but they do change variety in their characters and are rising stars in cinemas, while Johnson is just not raking in as much anymore.

What’s next, Amber Heard kept on and boosted to main character status?

Oh, but Cavill had to go immediately, because… he just did okay?!

These guys are a bunch of fucking clowns.

They would probably just follow the New 52 animated movies and replace him with Jaime, assuming they would do a TT movie.

In saying that Jaime feels similar to Cyborg, being that he feels completely out of place in the team, like he is filling a void that shouldn’t have been there. They just turn him into a discount Cyborg, which is really shitty given how great he was in Brave & The Bold. Honestly, I would have rather had him on the JL as B&B and Injustice gave him a decent dynamics with Batman and other JL members.

DC keeps shows and movies apart unless they do multiverse shit.

Injustice is weird. It is a story that really fucks up many of DC’s characters, specifically Wonder Woman, but then makes way better decisions on what to do with Cyborg and Harley than mainline comics. I wish DC would take some lessons from it beyond evil Superman.

Doing a reset without actually resetting everything? Truly, Gunn is staying faithful to DC Comics.

Don't give them any ideas. Mainstream media and journalists are still writing fluff pieces about Amber heard. As for Henry Cavill. He is an actual fan who quit Netflix the Witcher over writers that openly hate the games and books. It is trendy and cool to hate fans.
It needs to be a blanket reset, otherwise what's the fucking point?

Yeah, DC is fucking doomed I think.
I think DCEU was doomed when they tried to make Michael Keaton the long-term new Batman for the DCEU. I like Micheal keaton Batman and wanted to see him return. But bringing Christian Bale as Batman would've been a smarter move if they wanted to replace Ben Batman. He is younger and still most young people's favorite live action Batman. Hindsight a live action DC cinematic universe should've expanded the Nolanverse. Even if DC couldn't get back Christopher Nolan. They could've tried to get Christian Bale to stay as dc cinematic universe Batman.

I've recently bought The Dark Knight Returns (which I've read in the past, and seen the animated movie) and The Dark Knight Strikes Again, which I'm totally not familiar with and did not know it existed until last week. I'll grab the third issue, The Dark Knight III: The Master Race, in the following months.

If this thread is more oriented towards the TV shows though, I'm planning to watch Doom Patrol and Titans, while I'm watching Justice League season 2.

IIRC, this thread is about all DC media in general. Also, Doom Patrol has it's own thread which got recently necro'd for the 4th season.

Chatting with my dad he mentioned he's been checking out the old Superman radio stuff from the dawn of time. Apparently in that version Superman lands on Earth as an adult and a couple of randos suggest being a reporter named Clark Kent

Take it like this, the only mainstream adaptations of GL at the time were JL and Super Friends. For anyone that didn’t follow comics, like at all, seeing GL as black isn’t that weird.

You have to remember, the general audience has no clue who any of these characters really are past movies and shows, maybe video games. With Stewart being the most prominent GL outside of comics in 2011, obviously many got confused, especially parents who’s only exposure to him was watching the cartoon with their kid. Hal really only became mainstream after the film. Otherwise he was relegated to single episodes of JL or The Batman, or really old and shat on Hannah Barbara animation. After the film, he started appearing more between LEGO, the animated films, his own show, Injustice, etc..

Hell, Barry rarely showed up till the 2010s as well. The Flash show, LEGO, Young Justice, The New 52 films, Injustice, and more didn’t happen till at least 2011.

If you want to add more, barely anyone knew Jason Todd was the second Robin and assumed it was Tim all along thanks to BTAS.
Oh my God. Am I the only one who googles characters I'm interested in only to end up in a rabbit hole of related characters and their backgrounds?

I have a feeling DC execs were just as surprised as I am that people didn't know who Hal Jordan was in 2011. It just seems so natural that you'd at consume more media of characters you like, or at least Google them. But Normies are gonna normie I guess.

Wtf?! That show's been going for 3 seasons already? Who the fuck is watching all this garbage? Why does it feel like studios are just shitting out as many tv shows as they can just for the sake of it? Netflix already proved that's a terrible strategy.

Bottom Line:

Henry is one of the biggest stars Hollywood has today. He would have to be paid accordingly.

He also isn't under contract.

Ezra is under contract for two sets of movies AND likely they can negotiate to pay him less because of his nonsense.

You're not the only one, I got into many things doing exactly that. Hell, I did it some weeks ago & got into an obscure Marvel UK comic mini-series called Genetix.

Also IIRC, I heard that Doom Patrol is kinda shit after S3 cause it's the same shitty drama after the 2 seasons before it. I'd rather Doom Patrol get axed than Stargirl, a show which actually showed potential to be kino. Alas, it is what it is.
