I'd read the action sequences were 2nd unit directed by J.J. Perry a veteran of the 87Eleven stunt production outfit, who also directed Day Shift, a vampire hunter action flick that ins pite of serving as a Jamie Foxx vehicle was actually alright (and probably the closest we'll get to a proper Blade type movie in recent times), so it might be at least a fun exploitation flick if nothing mind-bending.

Not everything the 87Eleven alumni get involved in is golden, but for Hollywood action people, they've tended to mostly allow fight choreography speak for itself, which outside of a few other outfits working in Hollywood, has been largely confined to Direct To Video/indie spaces in Western action films.

What's the odds of WB prepping Blue beetle to flop? It feels like the team behind the film is going on political rants and bashing DCEU fans because they can blame either Trump or Zack Synder fans for flopping. The final line in the trailer calls Batman a fascist.

And it gets worse. The actress playing Ted Kord's sister talked about the villains being "White Military Industrial Complex".
If you wanted to tank the DCU completely, is there anything you'd do differently than these knuckledraggers are doing lately? Christ alive.

It’s a good bet, no normie knows or cares who Blue Beetle is. Unless the word of mouth is INSANE, there’s like a 90% chance this flips harder than Shazam 2.

I'm honestly shocked that Safran said that Superman represents "Truth, Justice & The American Way". You know some liberals are going to be triggered by that. The fact that DC/WB allowed Batman to be fascists is a bad sign. Gunn and Mangold did compare Trump to Hitler once so I'm not 100% shocked.

There's going to be a smackdown between Blue Beetle devs and Geeks + Gamers, just like the last smackdown between The Last of Us II devs and Geeks + Gamers.

As a normie (in regards to capeshit) I can confirm. When I watched the trailer I was no joke wondering if this had some sort of connection to like Beetleborgs because that is the only beetle related super hero media I know about. I thought that was the point Hollywood was at, beyond bottom of the barrel scraping.

Have literally never heard of this character before and the trailer looked horrible. Would not be shocked if it makes Shazam 2 look like a runaway success.

This all makes me want to see that Batgirl movie so much. These bombs are the stuff they're actually deeming fit for release.

They needed Flash for the reset. Aquaman and Shazam were successful movies, so they probably thought they can get money out of them still. Blue Beetle is really the only questionable one for releasing in comparison to Batgirl, but maybe they thought it would get a teen/Latin audience. Probably not the worst idea as Blue Beetle will likely have the backing of Young Justice/Titans fans.

Blue Beetle has been associated with Teen Titans for roughly a decade now, and those fans are crazy for this shit. Don’t know how much pull TT, Young Justice, and Injustice 2 have on normies, but willing to bet it is higher than one would think given I just went to a con last weekend and found a Robin/Knightwing or Raven around every corner.

I have a weird feeling that it could do well as normies are eating up the trailer and you already have women going in for the attractive actor. Not to mention that it could get the Black Panther treatment, being Spider-Man for Latinos. I mean that too, some YT comments is already claiming Brazil loves it as it has a popular actress from down there.

Yeah like Blue Beetle is the odd one out since with Shazam and Aquaman made a lot of money so the sequel making more would make sense. The Flash has shoved so much cameos in it like a stuffed Turkey that they think cameos alone will save it.

Yet with Blue Beetle I feel like they think it will be the Black Panther for Latinos.

Honestly it’s weird they scrapped Batgirl since Batman stuff makes bank in cinema unless it’s horrible in such a way the average normie can’t stomach

Batman is a fascist is beyond the usual dumb things for me, and into something genuinely annoying to me in its stupidity. It's a statement by someone who doesn't know the slightest thing about fascism and mainly for shock and an idea that Fascism is somehow the belief system of the wealthy.

Batman is a loner who goes out and deals with things with his own two hands by himself. He's also rich. Fascism is primarily a movement popular amongst lower economic strata and based on the idea of collective action. Even the name comes from the bundle of sticks which is a core tenant of fascism being the strength of united folk - often ethnic but always nationalistic, banding together to seize power. Now how does a billionaire individualist fit in with that? He doesn't.
