Oh, I said "kids" in the last paragraph. Their ages are all over the place. I'm pretty sure Stephanie Brown is pushing 30, yet she walks around in a school uniform the whole time. And I haven't seen her eat a waffle, once!
When you ponder on their ages, you realize how fucked up the showrunners made the last episode. Let say the characters are seventeen since some of them are in a fancy private school (and their ages have not been said outright). Harper was in a relationship with the mob boss' son who looks to be in his mid-twenties. Paging Chris Hansen. What is with DC having their characters underage relationships? There was Terra and Deathstroke in the original Judas Contract arc although it can be argued that was a result of her psychological issues. Showing Bruce Wayne and Barbara Gordon in a relationship both in Batman Beyond and the unnecessary prologue in The Killing Joke animated film is also unsettling even if Barbara is legally an adult.

I mean the mobster dating a 17 year old is not a big deal in the scale of things, is it? The guy kills people for a living. Dating someone over the age of consent doesn't really register compared to the rest of it. The Judas Contract thing I actually don't have a problem with as whilst pretty nausea inducing it was meant to be. I got the impression that Death Stroke never consummated it and was using it purely as a means to keep Terra on side. I mean, in the movie version he looks like he's barely tolerating it. And Terra trying to look all adult in the make-up was downright gross. Where I have a problem with stuff like this is where the media is clearly doing it trying to titillate or promote. Judas Contract is very much the opposite. It's neither sexy nor romantic.

Of course it's your generosity to the program that says she's over the age of consent. Given the actress for Harper is 26 (just looked it up) it's impossible to say whether they mean her to be over sixteen, eighteen, fourteen or what.

Even when I was younger I thought the Bruce & Barbara relationship was weird and retarded. For the animated universe I think it was just Paul Dini being a coomer (dude is obsessed with Zatanna and married a chick that cosplays as her 24/7) and for the Killing Joke movie, writer Brian Azzarello is just a degenerate edgelord hack.

Yeah. It's clearly Dini or Timm's fetish. Maybe both. I never really got it. I don't think Bruce is shitty enough to cuck his son, ball one of his best friend's kids and take advantage of a weird power dynamic all in one go. It's behavior I expect from Guy Gardner. Not Batman.

They actually tried setting up Catwoman and Nightwing later on in New Adventures, which made the whole 'couple with an age difference' thing a pattern. Going back to Paul Dini and his wife, there's like a twenty years difference between them. So, yeah, some weird fetish shit going on there.

I guess its less obnoxious than other writers' fetishes. Not as creepy as John Byrne's love of lolicon or Kirkman's weird thing for cuckolding and open relationships.

Bless! You literally linked that to me last time I discussed Gotham Knights, in this very thread last page. Still hilariously horrifying, mind. I like your new avatar, btw.

One more victim of the war on gingers!
Kek, I just remembered you were the one reminded me of that info first, the whole Harvey Dent deadnaming thing. Shit, Also, thanks, I like it a lot myself.
Holy fuck, this girl is based. I legit thought the preview was just a bait-and-switch to a white male talking about CW shit, but man I did not expect this level of based.
JLongbone's the best. She's the reason I can watch through Batwoman, & it's sad yet understandable why she stopped at beginning of S3.

That one's kinda hot so why not. It's not even uncomforting like Batman & Barbara. I do admit I'm biased tho.

Tom King has sullied the notion for any good Catwoman story (yet he's getting a film, again despite it being cancelled before. Did DC just forgot they barely avoided a lawsuit that happened because of him?), so if we can't get great mother Catwoman, then I say we should at least Catcougar.

Turns out I already watched a JLongbone video, this one specifically.

Also my God, on one side DC has the worst writing in television with CW, on the other Marvel has TV shows about characters that no one gives a fuck about.

What's even worse is, the Marvel shows are shit too. The only one I kinda liked is Hawkeye, & only because I headcanon most of it being good, like Hawkeye being a Harem King literally gifting himself one for Christmas. It made the show 10x better.

It's just that MCU shows are not CW tier shit, that's an upper echelon that's hard to reach.
She did cover She-Hulk if you need that “mocking bad capeshit shows” itch scratched.
I know she did. I watch them, tho she's a bit behind on the episode videos, but she's made one on the finale beforehand cause it was just that bad. It's one of the reasons behind the Batwoman reactions stopping, she saw 7 episodes ahead.

I found Ms. Marvel to be excellent. The lead actress was great and the supporting cast more than adequate. It was also surprisingly non-Woke. I enjoyed it a lot and it's the sole and solitary reason I'm inclined to watch The Marvels movie.
I've heard similar reviews. Funny how Disney scheduled Kenobi around the same time, and completely ruined any chance for Ms Marvel to shine.

Is that why it didn't get so many viewers? I never made the connection. I didn't follow Kenobi at all. Pretty much all I know of it was from the Pitch Meeting skit and occasional comments here. Was it bad?

I wont go on a tangent on Ms. Marvel as this is the DC thread and you can find my comments elsewhere. But a lot of people expected it to be hugely woke but what you actually got was a nice family dynamic and likeable characters.

Back to DC, I kinda wish they tried and tackle again the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen graphic novels.

Oh Jesus, hearing Keaton repeat the "let's get nuts" line, with zero passion, and zero context, was fucking painful. There's no reason he would ever say that exact line again.

The worst sort of memberberries shit.

I'm interested in this movie. I unironically liked the DCAMU movie, and I'll die on the hill that Apokolips War is way more bleak and savage than Endgame.

With that said.

I completely hate this trailer, it definitely though is going to tug at people's heart strings by harping on the parents thing to gaslight dumbasses to think this memberberries fest is actually saying something. Michael Keaton somehow is giving the worst performance in this trailer since his lines really do reinforce that he's just doing this for a paycheck, which I completely get, but at least pretend to put emotion here.

I'm pretty sure the X-Men and Spider-Man films already covered that. Like Spider-Man 2 literally revolves around Peter wanting to give up his powers to live a normal life.
