“Gunn brought his sex offender friend on set” motherfucker he gave his sex offender friends parts, if you’re in Gunn’s entourage you’ve got work. I remember that freak Bautista was the most fervent defender of Gunn.

All of them are suspect

I do have the impression he surrounds himself with yes men indeed. We have known Hollywood people aren't being covering for a sex pest see Weinstein. That's why I am not dismissing the idea entirely. If rumors do come to light I will be inclined to believe them

I wouldn't be surprised if he is a sexual deviant behind the scenes either. His tweets had a lot of sexual degeneracy. He definitely isn't a saint. What's only put into question it's whether or not he is a criminal sex pest.

That being said, I do think it's plausible Disney fired him over his tweets. He said nasty things about underage children, and it happened around the time Disney still had a strong reputation of being a family brand. Nowadays they have a more woke reputation.

I don’t care about the “need all the information” approach, anyone who bats for a guy who can say this shit deserves the “honorary pedophile” stamp, they are not discreet (especially in that circle) and in L.A they all know each other.

The “I didn’t know” excuse does not work, he hooks them up with victims or they know and don’t care. There is a hesitancy to use the label and it needs to go, zero tolerance for any form of it.

Or have we forgotten the man who wrote a redemption ark for a child trafficker? Who was somehow less villainous than a star tumour.

Tossing a bunch of other supers and who knows what else into one movie is jaw-droppingly dumb. At least the Snyder movies used prominent characters everyone knew from childhood, and of course Batman is a draw - the Pattinson movie did pretty well. They've learned nothin from past mistakes.

Gunn's tenure as the Kevin Feige of the new DCU will last about as long as Snyder's, maybe even less. Snyder made it two and a half movies before they finally fired him after Batman v. Superman cleared $800 mill instead of a billion. The big brains running Warner would probably be glad if one of their DC movies made $800 million now). Gunn will probably end up getting fired once this Superman movie, or one of the upcoming mediocrities on the schedule underperform or outright bomb.

I always saw James Gunn as a competent guy for his medium with the added bonus that he seems to actually like the superhero genre which meant he atleast understood the characters and how they would behave instead of using them as a prop for his ideals. Yet, it's become very clear that he's a spastic thats powertripping with his loosened leash and doesn't appreciate the concept of self restraint with both political sperging and "oh I get to say fuck and shit in this now -proceeds to spam it till the button breaks-". His show Peacemaker, showed cracks of this and his most recent one creature commandos is probably his most grotesque example yet, this faggot needs a tard wrangler Exec with a belt to hit him on the hand clearly so it filters out to a not shit product.

Oh yeah, Gunn likes superheroes, tell that to the characters he’s ruined because they weren’t to his tastes.

Or did you like his take on Adam Warlock? Or the bastardization of Starlord?

To be fair about Star-Lord his charaterization seems to be allover the place way before Gunn got his limp hands on him, as in there's no grounded principle around him besides being a human hero in outerspace and some of his costume motif. Adam Warlock was boring tbh, although his origin is neat in that he's a eugenically made superbeing meant for evil but he ends up flipping the bird on his creators and kaibashes their plans, a perfect guy with perfect morals with op powers in an already bloated setting would probably only inspire staleness and it seem's his role was already taken up by the Vision dude(even origin lol). My question to you is does Gunn's star-lord seem like it's own character or does it feel like a sockpuppet of gunn's beliefs? Though I will agree I kind of dislike Starlord's look overall its like they made him into a budget han solo in terms of looks which I suspect is a spiteful take on Starlord original look of being a space cop, I wouldn't be surprised if Gunn's faglib politics played a part in that but I also know that redesigns always happen and things may not be because of what we conjecture them to be.

MCU Starlord, like Rick Flag in Creature Commandos is the same thing, he’s the chad-sona self insert.

Starlord, the original is awesome, the slightly faci-wave uniform (notice how they did the officer uniform but he didn’t don the helmet) and his space cop thing is cool. If I remember correctly he was an asshole as well, but not the “loveable retard” way he’s become.

At least a faggot like Taika was open about it being a paycheck and putting the minimal amount of effort in. Gunn larps as a comic retard and his “changes” are done with smaller-scale characters in such a way that they’re permanent. So buckle up.

I personally have a "wait and see" approach. I do see some red flags with him, such as Creature Commandos being essentially woke-shit content used to antagonize fans, and his Superman movie being bloated with characters clearly meant to set up other projects—one of the worst things he brought from the MCU (no matter how much he denies it).

Then again, his work on Guardians of the Galaxy was massively successful, and he was one of the best MCU directors. Peacemaker was a hit, but The Suicide Squad was a flop. The way I see it, it could go either way. It's premature to say.

Regarding his changes to established characters, I'll be blunt: while he did significantly alter characters, they were mostly C-listers. Nobody outside of comic book shops cared about like Star-Lord or Adam Warlock. To be perfectly fair, that was the norm in the MCU. They changed a lot of unpopular elements or things that just wouldn’t work on film to appeal to mainstream fans. And most of them pre-Endgame did work. For example, Thanos being a simp for Death, and objectively, Robert Downey Jr. turning Iron Man into an A-list superhero with his personality.

Again, this isn’t a defense of Gunn. I am just not a comic book purist. I will put down my torch with you if he changes an actual beloved character for no reason. But him changing C-listers to try to make them popular isn't that unheard of.

adam warlock was like the single most interesting character anyone at marvel ever shit out. that original MP run through Starlin's first go around is leagues more interesting than they've done with anyone since.

Even supposedly anti-woke types are bending the knee to Marvel Superman, so I'm expecting it to break a billion easy. Looks like shit but the social media hivemind has spoken and there isn't a thing we can do about it. People are even defending the retarded spaz haircut and cartoon dog.

The Suicide Squad was a flop
To be fair, The Suicide Squad being a flop had a lot of external factors going against it as both critics and fans really liked it. The external factors being how The Suicide Squad being one of the first movies in theaters to come out post-COVID when people were still apprehensive and how WB put it on streaming the same day it came out.

Common sense would dictate that people who'd still be in fear of COVID would rather see the new movie on streaming than go spend their time in a movie theater.

To me, Starlord kinda works as his own character though this is from a stance of someone who really didn't read the comics, but the character in the trilogy was actually fine. Though Starlord was massively insufferable in the Avengers movies, but infamously that was more on Feige and the Russo brothers since the Guardians and Thor were characterized differently than what Taika and Gunn wanted. It did work out better for Thor who became a serious dramatic character (until Endgame + Love and Thunder), but not for the Guardians who spent all their time praising Thor while Starlord was treated as an emotionally impulsive idiot in both Infinity War + Endgame.

Really to me, James Gunn is pretty good at what he does, and I can fairly separate the art from the artist. As long as James Gunn doesn't go full Eric Kripke and turn the DCU into a glorified soap box first where it gets explicitely political with references as subtle as being hit with an anvil.

In my opinion, MCU Starlord is fine. If you have a character that calls himself that, you either make him a loveable retard or pure cringe. Such a teenage edgy name.

‘The Batman 2’ Delayed to 2027, Alejandro G. Iñarritu’s Tom Cruise Movie Gets 2026 Date

Moviegoers will have to wait a little longer to return to Gotham City, as Matt Reeves’ follow-up to “The Batman” has been pushed back until 2027. The superhero sequel was originally supposed to open on October 2, 2026, but will now shift a year and open on October 1, 2027, in Imax, Warner Bros. announced on Friday.

That left an opening for Alejandro G. Iñárritu and Tom Cruise‘s upcoming film to hit theaters in 2026, just as the awards season race kicks off. The film, which still lacks a title, will open in Imax on Oct. 2 in the date “The Batman 2” vacated.
“The Batman” debuted in 2022 just as the movie business was shaking off the impact of COVID closures. It earned more than $770 million globally and was praised for its moody, atmospheric take on its title character. The film also inspired the HBO spinoff series “The Penguin.” In a recent sit-down with Zoë Kravitz, who appeared as Catwoman, Reeves said he was finishing the script for the sequel and planned “to be shooting next year.”
Sounds troublesome.
I've already seen enough Batman movies for one lifetime, though, so I'm not too worried.

I also read today that the brave and the bold has been postponed too. Maybe Gunn is harassing Reeves again trying to get him to tie the Batman 2 into Superman and the DCU again. it's comical how like a week after the first one came out they had plans and outlines for 5 sequels and now they can't even write a script for #2.

Reeves works notoriously slow according to him, but this is ridiculous. I still think it would have taken awhile and the writer's strike didn't help, but I'm convinced he showed up with his outlines and got every character he wanted to use vetoed and keeps having to restart. poor bastard.

He's probably also trying to work double duty by making whatever he's forced to the best it possibly can so he can stop being asked to not do what he actually wants to. It'd be pretty easy to make a shitty movie, but besides the fact nobody wants to make garbage, if he did it would maybe feel like an I told you so from the people who insist he conform to the DCU thing.

This is fine for Guy Garnder or Booster Gold or Mr Terrific or even Flash himself. He might be fucked when it comes to Superman since they're doing the public hates him plot beat again, which did not work last time. This Supes will probably be a weird alagrammation of Donner and Synder which won't work.

Since Supes starts off in the Yamcha pose, I'm going to say Doomsday is in it and thay all have to team up to fight him. Like CW Bats v. Supes.
