they do a inversion of this in Lois and Clark but it's framed as more of her just being weirded out by him because she goes in his apartment and sees he only has junk food, useless dumbbells and he's getting dressed and sees he's ripped and is like what the fuck is up with this guy? It's one of the early moments that probably are seeding the idea he's superman to her.my favorite from the Byrne run is when him and Lois are going to cover some event and they meet up at his place, he’s still getting ready (laser shaving) and while he’s doing so, Lois goes over to his weights and pretty much just says, “This is pussy weight, you’re pathetic.”
Lois and Clark and their relationship is a big thing I miss in media. I don't mind us starting with them together and she already knows (if that's what they're doing) but their dynamic fucking sucks in everything these days. Lois should be kind of a blunt mean bitch and Clark takes it and gives it back to her which almost nobody can do but him, which is why she likes him. The CW show made him a subservient husband who never puts his foot down, BvS and Justice League made him basically need her around to cry and be sad to, and the anime makes them all have gay stock anime character personalities that are annoying as fuck and he likes her kawaii I'm so quirky-ness that's decidedly not Lois Lane in any way shape or form.
they're really not a hard couple to write I don't know why they don't just do it properly. Lois is cynical and might come across as mean but intelligent lady and Clark can take what she gives her and dish it back to her and she's impressed by their banter, he's also smart, and the fact his farmboy optimism is actually the guy and not an act. but he's also got the manly edge to him going on a girl raised by a military father would want. plus he's a space alien god man but that's neither here nor there. they're both reporters out to do good.
remember when Clark was a reporter out to do good in his day job too when he isn't Superman? I fucking do but nobody making Superman material does, and they think that is exclusively Lois' entire personality and she's the only person with a press pass who does anything. and they just make Clark a doting retard who probably should get fired because he doesn't do anything but encourage his wife and not write stories at all, let alone about anything important or of substance.
