My eldest (6yo) wants to read superman comic books :( picked up 1 issue of for all seasons for her.... Says 13+ :( wife ain't gonna be happy about that. If it gets her reading anything I'm all for it.

Any recommendations? As long as it ain't overly graphic or vulgar to the point I gotta explain stupid comic book shit.

Maybe you could show her some classic Silver Age stories to ease her into it instead of the more gritty modern stories.

Titles please.

I only read marvel when I moved countries to learn the English. And all I had was the first issue with venom (go get 'em tiger), dark Phoenix saga and that carnage issue where I think spiderman gets venom to help him take down carnage.

I'm a tourist when it comes to comic books. But the kid wants to read. Picked one from the corner store that looked most child friendly lol.

Just superman doing the Nazi salute in the sky. I'll grab more next time I drop them off at school.

There's this compilation book I got a few years back with a bunch of classic Superman stories in honor of his 80th aniversary. Here's a few of the stories, plus some in other books.
  • The Coming of Superman (First appearance of Superman)
  • The Terrible Toyman (First appearance of Toyman)
  • Europe at War (First appearance of Lex Luthor)
  • The Super-Key to Fort Superman (One of the earliest stories involving Superman and Batman together)
  • The Super-Duel in Space (First appearance of Brainiac)
  • The Supergirl from Krypton (First appearance of Supergirl)
  • The Battle with Bizarro (First appearance of Bizarro Superman)
  • The Superman Super-Spectacular (Features several of Superman's supporting cast, like Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen)
  • Secrets in the Night (Lois learns Clark Kent is Superman)
  • Superman/Shazam: First Thunder (Team-Up between Superman and Shazam/Captain Marvel)

Thanks. I'll start shopping shortly. We'll see if she's ok with the one I got. Then if she's actually down I'll start investing.

Click the link in private tab... Only 10 buckaroos?!

Check for it in Canada... 50 buckaroos. Damn... Murica dollar is stronk.

-Edit she just wanted to look at pictures. Lol barely even read anything from it. 6 year olds are fucking liars. Don't have kids!

Is this still an Israel–Palestine thread with a Groucho-Marx nose and glasses?

Saw Aquaman 2 again. That movie really needed less plot. It should have just been a grudge match between Aquaman and Black Manta. Instead it turns out Black Manta is being controlled by some very boring ancient evil CGI monster man who has no character other than being evil.
Can someone explain the appeal of Jason Momoa? I know like ten years ago some women were into him or whatever, I guess? I only have hearsay on this.

He’s like Roman Reigns but somehow with even less personality. Maybe they should have gone further with the tropical dad energy.

I always figured the first Aquaman movie cast Willem Dafoe because maybe lightning would strike twice like it did with Tobey Maguire Spider-Man. They were just desperate, throwing him in there.

He looks like a handsome barbarian. That appeals to women a lot.

There are also few, if any, tough guy style actors left, while decades ago there were dozens of them. Now you have Pasqual everywhere and nigs.

I'm really enjoying the fallout from the Superman movie because it really is a example of the Conscious viewer versus the Vibes viewer.

Most of this is due to The Little Platoon's review making a good point early on:

The entire movie has no reason to continue on after the first 15-30 minutes because if Lex's plan is to kill/capture Superman, did he have UltraMan leave him alive after beating him bad enough he needed healing at The Fortress of Solitude?

In Ultraman's defense, he heard there were donuts in the Lexcorp break room, and he wanted to get his hands on a chocolate glazed.

I still liked the movie, but why not just make it so the cloning process for Ultraman wasn't stable, so Lex needed to do some work on him so he'd be able to get the job done?
