Dead by Daylight and other Asymmetric Slasher Games - Discuss the games and the autistic/entitled communities around them

You can't see him at all unless you fall asleep? That's cool.
that really was cool. i started playing around the release of plague so i never encountered that freddy. or maybe i did and forgot. need to look up the patch notes of the time to be sure.

Is the blood moon event worth doing now that we're at 500% bp multiplier? I feel like I could grind more bp per match going to the regular mode and bringing streamers than the event offering.

I've been stomping people on hillbilly and getting about 300k a game with a survivor pudding. If you're not winning as often in the event, it's probably best to stick to the main game.

In DBD it would be a positive in theory, but in reality all killers with interesting mechanics get dumbed down to appease the lazy retards that can't even read the power description.

Freddy on release was very interesting despite being bad. You can't see him at all unless you fall asleep? That's cool. Now he simply has a projectile and a teleport lol.
I think it's a perfect reflection of the community that comprises this game: Troons, fags and other gender specials that want shit in life simplified to accomodate for their delusions and their lack of any real will. That's why every single mechanic in this game needs to be dumbed down and every single interesting killer concept has to be reconsidered so games can bend to the will of the playerbase.

Remember how they added the useless killer surrender after 10 minutes spent in EGC? Apparently it's a killer sided change and it needs to be reversed to be a free win for survivor:

This really showcases the entitlement of the average survivor. The hatch is already a crutch given to avoid this pettiness, so are the auto-powered gates when said hatch is closed. But that's not enough, there should be an auto-win button if you are too petty to admit to the loss despite said crutches.

The only way to win as killer is to not play the game at all.

Licenses are what keeps the game going and people love seeing a new character. You sound like the only person to complain about this.
I'll complain about this too. There's such a thing as too much shit, and it starts making the game feel like endless homework where you're always learning how to deal with something new. Plus either you powercreep shit to drive sales, like DBD does, and there's always this new MOBAlike flavor of the month thing to deal with, or you don't, and there's no real reason to ever engage with the new content. Unless it's just plain fun, like I dunno, TF2's side weapons. But that requires design chops, and the cynical route is much easier. God knows most people would read the Tomislav's description and go "Shit, sounds super fun, let me try that!". But no need for that! Here survivors, have Dark Boon buffed to the moon. Can I see an uptick in Ring Chapter sales now? It's been kinda low for a few months since we killed Sadako's fun playstyle. Thanks.

You can make an interesting character or new weapon or something actually fun, worthwhile, rewarding, you name it... Or you can just release endlessly recycled shit with slightly better numbers. Like Background Player and Champion of Light in practice do the same thing, but Champion of Light won't exhaust you for it, it will slap a slow on the killer, it's getting buffed when it's already meta AND it's licensed, so P2W. Did we need Champion of Light? Was it a perk so fun to play that it absolutely needed to be in the game? Nah man, but it drives sales, so in it goes.

In fact I'd say they're playing a little fast and loose with how busted some of the new-ish P2W perks are. Even the shills can't really justify Lara's double Agility BS to anyone with half a brain at this point. Again, not creative, not fun, literally just a more powerful version of old Spine Chill/An alternative to Agility that DOESN'T exhaust even though it is VERY much an I win chase for free button. Dark Boon being changed into old Bitchmade For This follows suit. Everyone already knew these perks were so busted they had to go. Hell, they know because BHVR told them. There is no way this and having the DBD shill defense force running damage control 24/7 isn't a cynical cashgrab. It works, I suppose.

And there's also the whole thing where shitty updates just kill games overnight now. I'd still play TCM if I could play the version where Hiker was actually fun to play, or when Hands was viable. It's not like we can just roll back to those and play them. You will be a punching bag for survivors in pretty much every assym and you'll enjoy it or you'll fuck off back to CoD or try Rivals out or something.

A lot of the time this endless content conveyor belt approach with obviously skewed balancing decisions is just made to drive sales. I know it's certainly the case for DBD. And I'm old enough to remember that one time they buffed Nasus to the moon in League of Legends, released at the time one of the most expensive skins for him, then nerfed him to the ground a month after.

It's hilarious seeing them cite MMR and then they still won't let us see our own MMR and went out of their way to hide it because they're embarrassed by how shitty the MMR system is.
Not just MMR. They keep everything in secrecy and just drip you a little info. A lot of killer addons or perks keep switching from additive to multiplicative or they're based on random values you don't even know. I want to say that they're intentionally wording them that way to not reveal how shit they are, but that would be giving them too much credit.

Let's equip Deathslinger perks: "Add 0.35s to reload speed", ok but what's the base reload speed? How am I supposed to decide how impactful the addon is? "You move 3% faster while aiming", but what's the base speed while aiming? And is that 3% additive to the base 4m/s speed or is it multiplicative like some other addons? Nemesis has lots of bullshit like this, too.

Regression perks are another good example. Hex Ruin sounds good on paper until you realize that 100% regression is still 4x slower than repair speed. 3 minutes to regress half a gen lol. Here's a good video showcasing how bad all the regression is.

Someone please explain to me how campy (hah!) slasher horror movie game became a festival of asshole players, insufferable devs, and extremely shoehorned 24/7 wokism.
Because they listen to play testers who think they know everything about the game with 90 hours of gameplay. And those people want the game to be the way other games they like are.

Seriously. You test a new killer right? And there's a bit of lag because you have to be logged into machines in Montreal. Then you have people who like I said have 90 hours in game and think they know everything but they haven't even gone up against a Ghostface yet. Then you get asked "What did you think of the new killer." and these assholes are like "The player was shit, they missed a great skill check!" Those are the people they listen to now.

That and they literally can't make anything else without failing. If they never got Halloween and Mikael Myers they never would have gotten as big as they were. They were losing to Friday 13th because of the licensing. It's why you will never see a DBD2 there is no way they could get all the licenses now. Everything they make that isn't DBD fails, and things DBD branded fail. There was so much hype for Casting of Frank Stone and it just kind of fizzled. Project T got canceled because they opened up play testing as a first come first served sort of deal, and they were all the 90 hour assholes and didn't like it, and it got cancelled.

Netese stopped doing DBD mobile and moved on to Marvel Rivals. That's got to be a blow for the company.

Hear about the movie lately? Probably not. I don't think it's happening now since I saw an article recently of James Wan doing another film very soon. (Now to be fair, he COULD be done with DBD, but having not heard anything and the whole writer's strike happened in the middle of it.)

The 24/7 wokeism is just being from Canada in current year. Sorry.

Edit, tbh if you want to have fun in DBD you need to pretend you are on a console and hitting the two arrows and hiding chat. But also, don't play on Steam and if you do don't ever link your Behavior accounts if you play on something else. HACKERS ARE NOW EVEN YEARS LATER FTER THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT ARE ABLE TO GET YOUR ID. I can't stress this enough. Doesn't matter if have TTV or not. You do something they don't like and they save your number they can do what they want. They can make you wait in lobbies for hours and never get in. They can only fuck with your DBD though, so I guess that's why it's not a high priority to get fixed.

I know multiplayer games get hackers eventually. But Behavior had the bright idea to offer the game free to anyone who had an Epic account when DBD first launched on there. All you need for an Epic account is an email address. There will never be balance because of them. There's no point in me being quiet about in anymore. But if you play on Steam and or have your account linked, it's probably something to consider that some hacker might literally have your number that pops up for them every time you boot up a game. They might not fuck with you because they like livestreamers to show off. But you never know.

I know I complained about hackers in other games like this, but I would take the hackers in Friday 13th compared to what this current crop is like. Those were mildly irrating at best.

it starts making the game feel like endless homework where you're always learning how to deal with something new.
It has always been an issue to have to deal with something new, especially if you're a new player then you will find yourself on the ground most of the time due to your inexperience in both the new killer and looping. Kaneki has been especially cancerous and his entire game plan is quite literally to run from one loop to another. He's a nurse 2.0 with a deep wound except loops somewhat impact him. Good thing nerfs are coming and he will down you in 30 seconds and not 20.:story:

Do I even need to say anything to this? of course BHVR are a bunch of bastards whose main goal is to make profit and not a good player experience, they prioritize profit over everything. And of course they will take the easy route of hiding a straight up upgrade perks behind a paywall in order to get some easy money from a chapter you wouldn't have bought otherwise, just for that one perk that just so happens to be better than the ones that are free. If anything there shouldn't be anything locked behind a paywall to make your experience better. I understand the killer licenses but still they should have been reskins at most to existing killers. Nobody seems to really care about the game being blatantly p2w meanwhile ubisoft or EA does anything like it and everybody goes at them. Truth be told this game survived for this long by locking licensed/op stuff behind a paywall. Nobody is really going out of their way to just play an assym because it's a not well known genre. And what better way to make some money and keep the game relevant if not for licenses and being scummy?

literally just a more powerful version of old Spine Chill
This really made me angry considering that spine chill + resilience combo took up two perk slots and gave you 15% boost meanwhile Finesse is one slot and 20% boost BUT you have to be fully healed. Implying that anybody doesn't know how to not get hit for some time in chase. BHVR knew people loved that and somehow found a way to make it premium.

And there's also the whole thing where shitty updates just kill games overnight now.
Also everybody is very whiny and will just bitch their way into making the game easier and less enjoyable for the other side. I believe it was quite obvious.
And yeah I understand the issue deeply, the game used to be much more fun before Kaneki got released. I don't care if someone considers him "balanced". I've met him every second game and it was just unfun to prioritize running to every loop and then get downed anyway, you need to play at peak efficiency and the retard will take a full slowdown anyway. You just get kicked in the balls because somebody paid their way into winning. I'd take top MMR blight game any day instead of a single Kaneki match, literally stopped playing after a week into his release.
Also that's the kind of fanbase they got themselves and fully deserve it. It quite literally is the only game where anyone dares to tell how YOU should be playing, be it do not genrush, do not tunnel, do not slug etc.
buffed Nasus to the moon in League of Legends
They still do that, during sentinel update they buffed Olaf (a champion who was in a decently balanced state) for no reason, not a huge buff but they still did just for the sake of skins selling better. People are too busy consooming new product rather than questioning WHY did this champion/perk/character get buffed just because of a new update.

Here's a link to the survey so you don't have to spend 3 hours patching this piece of shit because they can't be fucked to post it on their socials or reddit.

broad tl;dr:
  • Asking about DBD socials, streams, what people are engaged with. They keep asking about "lore" like anyone gives a shit about the awful SJW lore that this game pumps out, I imagine that's getting the least votes by a landslide.
  • Asking about whether or not you stream, if you do stream if you stream DBD, if you stream and don't play DBD why not.
  • Some questions about "representation" I guess because you're asked to pick your survivor and killer main and the questions are about how similar they are to you. I guess they want FUCKING DATA to prove that "representation matters" or figure out why no one plays Haddie.
  • Some questions about horror, what type of horror you like, other horror games. Also questions about other media you CONSOOM, how long you spend doing it.
  • Finally it gets back to the game to ask about how you feel about playing the game. If you feel like your choices matter, if you have freedom to pick how to play, if your teammates are on the same page or not, why you keep playing,

They couldn't even make a halfway decent survey, I didn't realize the questions about how you feel about characters was about the specific survivor I picked until I went to the next page and they repeated the questions.
