Dead Space Thread

Does it really pop up before jump scares? I was reading the article and when people here were sperging about the self harm stuff that was what popped out to me. I can't think of any fucking way to ruin a horror game more than having pop ups before the actual jump scares.
There's a pop-up warning and the "shocking event" is blurred out.

That's honestly hilarious. Even if I get the suicide warning, why are you playing a horror game if you want absolutely no jump scares to happen. It's not like it removes all of them anyways because the necromorphs themselves will often jumpscare you through their pathing behaviors.

I still don't get why they replaced all the voice actors outside of Isaac/Nicole. Hammond and Kendra's voice actors were pretty good in the original and considering Isaac and Nicole's voice actors are actual B-list actors I very much doubt it was a budget issue.

Its sad how they butchered the characters of the ishimura crew. Kein went from a former zealot with a sinister hiss and a hint of remorse in his voice to a sitcom punchline character.

The video log where he accidentally kills Mathias falls completely flat like some autists screeching in a discord vc instead of an overzealous fanatic frustrated that plans aren’t accelerating as fast as they’d like and goes out of control. With Kein being the only voice of reason among the unitologists onboard and quickly realizing that before bugging out.

Are there any references to dead space extraction in the remake?

So the general concensus is that it’s an excellent remake, though with some minor wokeshit that’s unintentionally hilarious because of the necromorphs’ whole Cronenberg gimmick; and someone having hanged themselves in the tranny bathroom?
The consensus I've seen is that the gameplay is good and exactly what you'd expect of Dead Space, the necromorphs are the best they've ever been, making the ship more open was a decent change, the story is mostly intact but some of the changes they did make (like Hammond's death, Kyne being butchered and especially Nicole becoming a Unitologist deconverter) are bad, Isaac's voice actor is as good as you'd expect him to be although the others fall pretty flat, and there's sprinklings of wokeshit that are baffling at best if the intention wasn't to poke fun at a deathtrap of a ship trying to act woke to score goodboy points

Lmao. Even if it didn't have the woke shit I wouldn't buy it. Fuck EA.

Buying a game "to own the other side" its a room-temp IQ mode and the kind of shit woke marketers pull when filling something with ragebait so neocons sperg at it giving it free publicity and then neolibs buy it just to spite the neocons.
People do this literally all the time though. Even with animu coomershit that may get censored to hell in one region but left untouched in another (which is becoming a rarer trend, I know).

Hell, people are gonna get the Hoory Porrer game just to "own the libs". In that respect, both sides are retarded.

Why does all the handwringing about this game have to involve a bunch of politisperging anyway?

And yeah its been obvious since GG that most of these wokescolds are neopuritanicals.
Ah. Nevermind. I see why now.

It's an optional setting that's already turned off by default.

I don't give a shit, I already knew that. I'm laughing that there's an option to turn off jump scares in fucking Dead Space in the first place and imagining who would even turn that on.
Is there for Steamers.

Pretty funny through that the developers took the time to be able to dynamically burr out the jump scares in real time. I wonder how many man hours it took to get that implemented right.

Twitter user has to have spelled out what was an obvious fucking theme in the original game.

The game takes place on a falling apart/ barely holding together at the best of of times ship that is designed to literally eat planets and the smooth brains still couldn't get it.

But here's my issue with that.

The original games have been streamed for a DECADE without anyone getting punished. What kind of pussy ass world do we live in today?

No streaming platform I know disallows gore/violence/jump scares. People were streaming Resident Evil 8 and all its gross shit no problem on YouTube and Twitch.

Twitch does, but they have a "special exception" case list for certain games that are popular enough.

Outlast, for instance, has loads of shit that's Twitch-unfriendly, but Twitch allows it to be streamed unrestricted because it's got the special good boi "popular game" pass.

People need to understand "Twitch Rules" are like "Pirates of the Caribbean Rules," something something, they're more like guidelines. And it could just be me or my paranoia acting up; but part of it seems to be there a huge community (or whatever) for horror games. Be it normies, spedrunners, or game/series specialists; there's always a number of people playing these games, and a number of them have sizable communities, and it probably doesn't help is that a good portion of them are females.

I saw a streamer that literally had one of her tits nipple and all hanging out for over an hour before she did the "tee hee didn't notice" bullshit and tucked it in.

No ban. If you have a vagina you can do whatever the fuck you want on Twitch.

Doesn't help there are girls willing to debase themselves to the mods for special privileges too.

Unironically yes. And it's become abundantly clear over the last few years now that Twitch admins actually simp for e-girls on their platform.

I remember how there were lots of implications that CEC might be a horribly corrupt corporation, with the Aegis 7 mission being called ”an illegal mining operation” as if it’s a perfectly normal thing that they do, with space mining being so dangerous of a job that there had to be a whole-ass limb regrowing facility, completely with braindead clones being grown in vats in order to harvest them for organs, with a ship that has doors that will slice you in half in case of a malfunction.

Subtlety is dead in The Current Year.
