Dead video game series/franchises you refuse to let go

The Darkness - at the very least, leak the script for the 3rd game so that I can know the ending.
Alan Wake - good graphics, good music/voice acting, good gameplay (aside from the driving sections) and the best script in any horror game I've ever played but for some reason, people hate this game so it's probably dead forever.

Also, not a particular game but I really miss the old school fixed camera horror games like the original Resident Evil games. After RE4, the entire genre disappeared.

Tomba/Tombi. Needs to return.

There needs to be a true Breath of Fire. Not this mobie garbage known as "Breath of Fire 6".

Shadow Man. I loved the game. Apparently it's going to be on Switch but that doesn't mean there will be new game.

Also Golden Sun.

For What it's worth Control had an Easter Egg of Alan Wake (With the OG VA, even) so here is still hope.

Also I just realized I missed the Siren games, I found them all pretty enjoyable Horror experiences.

isn't it just the story of the comics?

considering how everybody was shitting on it when it released and now everybody's asking for aw2 I wouldn't bet on it.

Saints Row. Sure, the games were a mixed bag of nuts; First was Meh, second was awesome, third was great and four was shit. Then they tried a soft reboot with Agents of Mayhem to make sure to kill the franchise.

Yeah, the series is pretty alive and well again, albeit briefly, but I will never let go of the Turok series (2008 notwithstanding).

How about some Rare IPs? I'm talking Banjo-Kazooie (although the Smash Bros DLC's cool), Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, Viva Pinata, Conker, and even Kameo. The shit's practically a treasure trove that's been gathering cobwebs for over 10 years, I hope that gets rectified with the next Xbox console.

Oh, and Fable too. I already mentioned that one earlier, but dammit does it hurt to see it missing...

When the fuck we getting that Fable 2 PC port? That game might have a shit story but it has some good gameplay goddammit.

I miss the Neverhood games. Armikrog was okay, but it failed to capture the charm it's predecessors had.
It hurts knowing that the rights to the series have been locked away forever in the bowels of EA's legal department like so many others :(

No, they changed 60% of everything, it's a different beast.
I prefer that actually because you get to enjoy it twice.
The 2nd game ended on a giant cliffhanger (well, depends on which ending you get but I'm pretty sure that the cliffhanger is the canon one).
I think they still want to make the 3rd one, they just need the money :)

I absolutely don't understand why. Like I've said, the driving is the only bad thing in the game but it's maybe 20 minutes in total.
It reminds me of The Thing being panned by everyone upon release and then getting recognition a decade later.
Alan Wake sold over 2 million copies from what I remember and people still mention it today so we'll get a remaster eventually and if that does well, maybe a sequel but that's years down the line and the best case scenario.

Take heart in knowing that there will be a guaranteed PC port whenever the next Fable comes out.

Speaking of Fable II, how about a remaster? That would kick all kinds of ass.

I still can't believe the original Nintendo 64 version of Conker's Bad Fur Day was less censored than the Microsoft remaster.

Alas, they'd never get away with making a game like that again in today's climate. Sunflowers with giant bouncy tits, cheery-looking sprockets that curse like sailors, an opera-singing mountain of shit, murderous teddy bears... the screech brigade would bust out the fainting couches at the first sign of floral jiggle physics.
