Dead video game series/franchises you refuse to let go

It's on hiatus, but I just want a proper Devil May Cry sequel. I played the 4 games for the first time about two years ago, and I loved them.
Sure, there is the special edition of DMC4, and that's fun, but a sequel is long overdue. Come on, Capcom, stop screwing around.

You know the guy who created DMC also created Bayonetta, right? And that the latter carries over a lot of elements from the former and when I showed my friend Bayo 2 he just said, "Holy shit, this is what DMC should have been!"

Myst. I know the later games went off the rails a bit and there as an attempt to make multiplayer Myst work, but I think there is still a place in the gaming world for contemplative puzzlers set in gorgeous worlds with deep mythology and little human interaction. The original creators are doing a new game through Kickstarter, a spiritual successor, but I loved the Myst mythology and the ideas in it.

Myst 3 is still one of my favorite games of all time.

In the same vein: The Journeyman Project. Old game originally built in Hypercard for the Mac that spawned a couple of sequels. Same sorta idea but involved time travel to both the past and the future and has the best opening theme song ever.

Resonance of Fate, an unlucky bastard victim of Sega shitty timing.
The game was released too close to Final Fantasy XIII and thus the reviews weren't kind to it, despite it being good.
Some reviewer recently stated "maybe we overlooked this game" but the damage was done.

Beyond Good & Evil, the game whose sequel is in the works since 2008 and is confirmed to happen pretty much every year.
It's been 7 years and around 10 Ass Creeds, but no sign of the damn game.

Given Sega's recent trend of "hey, we could make extra dosh via Steam", maybe they'll port it to PC? Valkyria Chronicles isn't a big franchise either, but it sold decently enough when they rereleased it.

Spyro The Dragon. Yeah, I know Skylanders exist but I loved the original trilogy so much. It had a fantastic, mythical setting, even if the second and third games were a bit more cartoony. I loved it when I was a kid and I replayed the games so much as a teen and an adult. It holds up remarkably well. Plus Stewart Copeland is amazing.

Also I would add Bioshock to the list, except if it was approved for another sequel recently. I don't care if Ken Levine or Irrational aren't gonna be attached to it. I want moar. I feel like you can do a lot more with the franchise. Plus I liked Bioshock 2 enough, so I have faith.

Sly 5 would also be nice. Thieves in Time ended on a cliffhanger and there was an eight year gap between that and Sly 3 so the possibility of a new one can't be ruled out.

Ugh. I want Sly 5 really badly too. Too bad there are no plans for it, as of now. Although I don't have high hopes for the upcoming movie, it's nice that it's at least keeping the franchise alive.

Crash Bandicoot might be returning for real.

Good. At risk of sounding like a nostalgiafag, I hope it's more closer to the original Ps1 games.

The Gargoyle's Quest series. I have only vague memories of the first two games, but Demon's Crest was awesome. Capcom showed what they could do with Strider in the 2014 remake, imagine what they could do with Firebrand.

Though I know it'll never happen.

Fable. Fable: TLC is great, Fable 2 is my favorite in the series, then Fable 3 was eh, Fable The Journey was a joke, and Fable Legends looks to be an even more cruel joke. MOBAs are fucking garbage and I'll probably never touch Legends.

Fable 3 was hot garbage, Fable 2 was indeed the best, sad that its an 360 only title

Fable 3 sucked but I found Fable: TLC to be way more memorable than Fable 2. I would say Molyneux underdelivered with the original more than 2, but that I didn't know that until years later and still enjoyed it is a testament to how good the original is IMO.

I was never a Spyro fan growing up, but I remember discussing The Legend of Spyro with a friend. It's a (gritty) reboot that followed the original trilogy and attempted to give the game a serious, edgy plot.

In particular, The plot summary for Dawn of the Dragon should be mandatory reading for anyone aware of Spyro. It's spectacularly autistic.

I love TLC but in terms of combat and gameplay in general I liked Fable 2 more, especially with the way more limited access to potions and resurrection phials. TLC can literally be too easy to play if you just invest early on in Physical Barrier and use the will bar like a second health bar.

I'm not sure if it's dead, since the games are still available on PSN and the Apple Store, but I was always fond of Lunar. I adored the first two games, Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue. I'd love to see another Lunar game that captures the cheeky interactions and surprisingly memorable music of those two games.

True. I did find that the gun was more often than naught the win button in Fable 2/3, though.

Infinite Undiscovery. All you need to know about it is that it was a JRPG exclusive to Xbox 360.

So naturally, despite being really fucking good it was never heard from again.
