Dead video game series/franchises you refuse to let go

After having a binge on the game for a week or two, Blood is one I'd refuse to let go. Like Shogo, it's made by the same developer, Monlith. It was their first FPS and it was made on the Build engine much like Shadow Warrior and Duke Nukem 3D. Unlike those two, the main character is more or less a villain protagonist who fights against his former master not because he wants to redeem himself or anything but rather because he just wants revenge, even if it means not only fighting cultist and zombies but also means killing civilians.

The game got a sequel titled Blood 2. It's similar to Shogo in being the game where enemies can fuck you up badly if you don't react quickly. Unlike Shogo, it just doesn't have that same charm. Plus, some enemies feel more like damage sponges and with their placement in certain areas, it can mean a death sentence (think being in a small room with two hall ways spawning two of the same enemy that has an area of effect attack. You will die at worst or take a good amount of damage at best). The game ended with a sort of cliffhanger in the expansion pack of the second game but like Shogo, nothing came of it. A sequel could happen except Atari holds the license and in a pessimistic sense, a Blood 3 could end up sucking, especially if it just tries to copy whatever popular FPS there is.

The Mega Man Franchise in general. It was my childhood in so many ways. *sigh* Hell, I learned how to read at 2 because I wanted to know what the characters were saying. /powerlevel

Lost Kingdoms. For a refresher, Lost Kingdoms 1 & 2 were Gamecube exclusives focused on real-time card battling. They were developed by FromSoftware, so there ya go. I know Lost Kingdoms isn't coming back, but oh, what memories I have of ignoring college homework in favor of Lost Kingdoms.

Half-Life? Yeah, Half-Life. Valve is bordering on Konami status in my eyes. They've quietly shifted from being vanguard game creators to managers of hat shops.
"managers of hat shops" at the least would put them on EA level or ubisoft, shit like that
at least valve doesn't torture their staff or burn their bridges for sweet gambling money
that being said, if valve wants to make a portal themed slot machine...

I'm not sure if this really counts, but I still to this day hope that a classic Fallout game could be made.

I don't mind the first-person shooter ones, but to me the top-down isometric Fallout games will always be dabes.

Silent Hill, Left 4 Dead, Katamari.. and I've always wished there would be a longer, better sequel to Stretch Panic, but that's never gonna happen.

Silent Hill, Half Life, Castlevania, and Megaman. These four series make up some of the best games I've ever played. Half Life 2 is an incredible FPS, Silent Hill 2 is one of my favorite horror games, Megaman 2 is a fantastic platformer, and SotN ended up being one of the best games I've ever played. I'll always hate Komoney, Valve, and Capcom for killing their own franchises because $$$. The only one that's been permanently fucked is Konami, but I could see it happening to others.

I'm still salty The Darkness 3 got cancelled.

I would have to say the Breath Of Fire series, I deeply loved that series since it was my first RPG. This was back when I didn't even know what an RPG was, it wasn't until later when I grew up I realized what I was playing, the series was great and it had an odd order. To understand how the story went you would have to play Breath Of Fire 4 then 1 then 2 then 3. It was a fun series but Capcom killed it with Breath Of Fire 5, it didn't do so well and after that they just dropped the whole series.

You didn't mention the phone game.

I don't even blame you.

The World Ends With you seems to be dead it seems.

It had great themes for a JRPG on the original DS, it's one of the very few games that really took advantage of the DS. Not many games did that for the system. It was ambiguous and it sold really well in the west, similar to Bravely Default.

I'm shocked Square Enix aren't taking advantage of how many JRPGs are on the 3DS, and how popular the system is. Then again this is Square Enix, they seem to only care about a few titles and that's it.

The Mana series.
-I know there have been a few released but they were either really bad or entirely mobile.
Dawn of Mana and Children of Mana were just OK. They weren't as great as Secret of Mana or Legend of Mana. Heroes of Mana just sort of missed the point despite being set in the same universe.

The phone game was just horrible, when I first saw that there was going to be a Breath Of Fire 6 I legitly fanboyed like an idiot, I was like "OH SHIT WHAT CONSOLE IS IT COMING FROM!?" I would had bought the console just to play it then I see "Phone" and i'm like "the fuck" then when I learn YOU DON'T EVEN USE RYU, You use another character that has no relationship to him.
