It usually takes at least 3 people to underperform for it to be a completely unwinnable situation. Still happens, but that's just the nature of team games.
Cap.
I'm pretty sure one of the creeps heals you. On top of that there are multiple upgrades with lifesteal. In dota you can also ferry over tangos and salves.
Yea but it's pretty laughable (less than 10%) so you have to stay in lane loooong before you notice it, attrition will lose you the lane.

Battleborn was shit take on Smite. Smite succeeded cause it was better.
DotA has notoriously strong rubberbanding mechanics. There's rarely a point at which the game is over purely because someone is "too farmed"
This game is closer to early DotA tho, where ruberbanding is not as strong.

And then the problem is, this is a skillbased shooter. What's the point of shooty shooty if rubberbanding and shit? Rubberbanding works in DotA cause it's more about map control and strategy, this game is shooty shooty and while those will impact the game, the teamfights will be determined by the best shooty shooty, otherwise what's the point of it being a shooter?
Pardon my 'tism, but creep aggro is extremely complicated in dota. It doesn't seem anywhere near as complex in this game, but any dota player with a decent amount of hours in the game know how complicated creep mechanics are, and how much it shapes high-level play.
Yea but it's still a basic unit with no abilities and hitscan attacks. The ai is not smart or complex it's tailored to act in certain ways to certain situation it's not deep or complex.
Even in games where i absolutely dominated or got dominated, i never saw the highest player have over 1.5 times as much net worth the lowest net worth player. Not sure if it's rubberbanding of some sort, but it's definitely hard to snowball into a good build. Also the power increase per item tier is very low compared to the price increase, so filling all slots is more impactful than buying expensive items.
He can still dominate every teamfight and own everyone 1v1.
If you don't like games with short-term character progression, why are you even playing this? It's clearly aimed at the ASSFAGGOTS audience, and not the boomer shooter type.
I used to play DotA2 a lot, so kys faggot.

But yea I was hoping Valve would innovate and bring something unique, not another assfaggot. You're so far up your own ass you can't even tell there's more than two genres of shooters in the world (hero shooters, and boomer shooter, nothing else exists?) and I was hoping this game would be innovative, not another ASSFAGGOTS

>Why are you playing this
First of all, KYS nigger. And I'm not playing this. Dropped it. It has good potential, good netcode, good mechanics, bad designers. Instead of making a hardcore ASSFAGGOTS game, they could have made it something else? I'm thinking planetside, where games can go on for hours, and players come and drop. Remember build and shoot? Not everything has to be super hyper competitivemaxxXxXed. It could have been 2 hour games where players drop in and out. The way it is now, you're locked in for 1h at a time. And the Cycle and Borderlands had cool monsters and mobs; why could the lane creeps and jungle be more interesting? Towers could be minibosses instead of hitscan beam. But I guess we do generic 1h long ASSFAGGOTS.

Oh well valve shills will shill. KYS niggers.

loud brap above me

It's really goofy how similar the two are but so few people even remember Battleborn (or even know it happened at all) to make the comparison. They're very different, but there's enough overlap that it's worth acknowledging. It really is all about execution.

lol lmao even

NYYYEEEH STALKER CHILD my game with 5v5 hero PvP with unique skills and classes and abilities is nothing, NOTHING like Overwatch! It's not even hero shooter, for you see, a hero shooter needs to have an objective to push, and as you see deadlock has no such thing, therefore stalker child, these games are nothing alike and not comparable at all!

I'm actually a bit surprised at how well this is doing. It could be a mix of valve-hype and a genuinely high-quality game, but I really thought that DotA boomers would be too stuck in dota to switch to this, and TF2 trannies would be too put off by the ASSFAGGOTS mechanics to pick it up.
The main reason i want this game to succeed is so that the Source 2 engine and modding tools get some more love. Valve just casually dumped an engine that could've rivaled unity and unreal, only to abandon it after releasing 2 games using it.

Nigga what the fuck are on about, do you even read the posts before you respond?

Edit: I think the gane is doing so well because of the invite System. It’s literally a viral spread plus the feeling of exclusivity is a huge factor.

That, and being a best in class example of it's genre.

What like planetside 2 the fps military 1000 player matches game?
Why on earth when playing a hero shooter moba would your mind drift to that?
what would that game even look like? 100 different lanes?

With these numbers, I expect the development of the game to speed up dramatically. They're gonna want to finish the game and release it ASAP. It's clear that the game will earn a shitton of money and they will definitely want to start recouping the investment soon.

bebop needs to be nerfed. his hook bomb combo can be unlocked 2 minutes into the game and takes off half your health bar instantly, there is no way to avoid it as it comes out immediately and is only on a 20 second cool down. i just quit a match because i died 6 times in 5 minutes and there is no counter play besides him missing it.

Companies fail to understand the mindset of the Gaymuhr. They think if video game A is popular than all you have to do is improve on the formula and polish it a bit then game B will be popular as well. But people put in hours and money to farm the knowledge required, unlock skins, make friends and connections, obtain a rank in said game A to the point where they feel as if they are loosing something if they switch to game B.
This is why the conversation of "Is LoL better than Dota" triggers terminally online people. Because at the end of the day they don't care at all which is better. All they care is that they invested time and money into whatever it is they're playing and won't switch to another game even if that game is better.
It's the reason why WoW is still "popular" today and there never was a WoW killer.

That happened with Dota 2 as well.
I have been wanting a game like this for years but I have my reservations about this leaning more into the Dota elements than shooter elements (a game I liked did that for its sequel and it was less fun compared to the original)
Hoping to have some free time (and peace) to try it out soon.

I think deadlock is not a good game in absolute terms and its a matter of relative deprivation that its garnering any interest at all and you guys are coping that steam will save you

Like the aesthetic is weird and I don't enjoy it (finger gun thing just seems cringe) and the gameplay wasn't particularly fun either it really is just a first person moba (horrible)

I get the feeling that Deadlock is only do as well as it is because it was made by Valve. If this was made by any other company and was still the same game, it would likely have flopped as hard as Concord or Dustborn.
I agree on this. Most of the character designs are off putting. Seems that the designers didn’t want to offend people with how some of the characters are designed.

Wanted to play more of it to see what the rage is about. Oh, not compatible with Steam deck.
