This one really struck me. The depth of which a human can delude himself is incredibly scary.ParkourDude91 said:You dont understand. When im on meds Im not a commander AT ALL.

I thought the main reason Gail put him in Jesus Camp over anywhere else was because of the religious aspect. If someone suggested to her that Outward Bound would help, would she even be interested in it? Although Jace does seem somewhat interested in the outdoors, judging by the homeless videos and a few other things.I wonder if Outward Bound would help Jace? It might help disabuse him of some of his tough guy notions / illusions. It's a great program, and it really builds character and self-esteem (I did it when I was 17). The Maine wilderness program (which is the one I did) isn't too far away and, from what I've heard about Jace's family, they should be able to afford it. It's not psycho therapy, but it would certainly be more beneficial than Jesus camp. The whole rugged outdoor self-sufficiency thing might appeal to the tough guy pull yourself up by your own bootstraps survivalist in him. Then again, he might not last long. There's always the potential of him wimping out, and his presence could be disruptive / annoying to the other participants.
You don't understand. When I'm on meds, I'm not a delusional fruitcake.

I think it could do him lots of good, but only if he manages to get his mental issues under control beforehand. He needs to start with a clean slate. I hope they can get him to take his meds before the situation deteriorates any further. If nothing else, it would clean him out. He wouldn't have any access to drugs or alcohol for the entire 14 days of the program. Outward Bound has proven successful for a lot of "at risk" youth, so there's a chance it would work for Jace. As I said in my earlier post, one of his biggest challenges would be his abrasive personality. The Outward Bound program is big on teamwork and cooperation. Participants are expected to show empathy and compassion for their fellow classmates. These are areas where I could see Jace having difficulty.
For those of us who don't really know about Outward Bound, could you give us an explanation of what it is, and how you feel it could benefit Jace? I took a glance at their wikipedia page but it seems a bit vague. If nothing else, it would clean him out. He wouldn't have any access to drugs or alcohol for the entire 14 days of the program. My sister goes to a school that partners with them, and I'll try to explain it from what she's said: You go hiking/canoeing for a couple weeks with a group and do motivational group exercises whenever you aren't helping around camp, sleeping, or moving between campsites. So it would involve a) being without internet, gamersnax, or weed, b) taking direction from an authority figure and c) interacting with other people, including sharing a tent. I don't see that ending well. For those of us who don't really know about Outward Bound, could you give us an explanation of what it is, and how you feel it could benefit Jace? http://www.cracked.com/article_20843_6-shocking-realities-secret-troubled-teen-industry.htmlWell, what it is is pretty self-explanatory. As far as what it could do for Jace, it could help him get more in touch with himself (his real self, not Stryker). It could give him, Jace, a sense of accomplishment which would allow him to take pride in himself rather than living viacariously through his Mary Sue, Stryker. It could also help him learn to get along with and work with others. These are both transferable life skills that could benefit him later on should he manage to actually get a job.

As long as he doesn't try to make himself a grilled cheese in his room I think the odds of him burning to death will go down to about 40/60.
Suddenly a new tweet: "Pastor Faggots trying to get into my room again. Grilled cheese can wait."
Either bad grammar or more than one pastor. My money is on the former, but seeing as how this situation has been escalating, the latter wouldn't suprise me.Suddenly a new tweet: "Pastor Faggots trying to get into my room again. Grilled cheese can wait."
Hell, I can see Jace wanting to be voted off the island. Is there any way we could suggest this to Gail? I know it would probably be beyond the scope of the forums here, but seeing as what's been happening to Jace recently, it couldn't hurt.As cheezy as it sounds, you could also draw a Survivor analogy here. It probably wouldn't take long for Jace to get voted off the island.
