It hasn't stopped them before. Numerous characters got episodes before their series ended. Like Deku here for instance got his first episode a few years before his series ended. And there are numerous characters whose arcs have ended or at the very least have blatantly shown the full extent of their power.

Honestly, Naked Gun would be pretty dope, especially with the new Liam Neeson remake.

That's why I pointed out some characters in One Piece are basically done in the story or already showed off the peak of their power. Like whether Doflamingo breaks out of jail or not hardly matters, he's shown off what assuredly must be the strongest he'll ever be in the story. Same with the likes Big Mom or Kaido. They may or may not be dead, but I can't imagine either of them have any tricks left up their sleeves.

With One Piece and Eiichiro Oda, I don’t think you can ever completely write things off as over and done with. There’s something around the corner with each arc.

Like, seriously, Deku doesn't take the name All Might, and Peter didn't give his spider powers to Miles.
Unironically you could fucking argue that Deku fighting Hal Jordan would make more sense considering that at least Hal was given his powers by another guy giving his powers away (even if they were dying)

Of course that's a megastomp of extreme proportions but so was this. What the fuck even was this, anyway? The fucking wank going on even during the fight as Deku sucks off the guy he just violently exploded was just fucking baffling.
Bring back Hal Jordan cutting off Ben 10's arm with a giant pair of scissors.

They've actually made me miss OOC characterizations in Death Battles.

I'm not too familiar with recent Spider-Man comics, but I'll give them credit for not using Miles' connection to Anansi as a way to win.

I am going to be real, I am pretty sure this fight happened so Deku can get a W, cause half of those characters would've beaten Deku's ass easily especially Gohan, Superboy, and Invincible.
