Death Battle - Analyzing weapons, armor, and skills on the Internet since 2010.

And then you need animators working with them. Honestly, the resources Death Battle have at their disposal puts them at the top of the vs scene, and I don’t see them having any competition anytime soon (though I think there’s a good chance they got where they are mostly because of having a decently sized internet company in their corner.)
Vs debate is very niche as is the only real competition is animation rewind who I argue has the more accurate results usually but the difference in production value is quite obvious to put it lightly most of the time it's more about a straight argument over who would win death battle just so happens to have the production values to put animation to their arguments which some people assume means they HAVE to be the highest authority on such matters

I’d say that production value only helps to make you look like something that isn’t amateur hour or something you’d do as a hobby.

Here’s a channel that does what Death Battle does, though they don’t really like being compared to Death Battle all that much, and they CERTAINLY don’t consider themselves a rival or competitor to Death Battle:

I think they’re actually pretty good, but the thing is that they don’t have the backing Death Battle has (only Patreon), they’re decentralized, and they’re in no position to post episodes regularly, saying episodes come out “when they’re ready”.

No, Megaman.exe is not unfathomably faster than any character ever; You misinterpreted the context of that entire series just to give his feat a hard number to follow.
The fuck kind of logic is this?

You might as well factor in shit like RAM cards and processors; online in the Megaman.EXE world, processors determine physics based shit like gravity and Navi navigation speed. This is like saying the world's fastest processor will allow Megaman.exe to outpace the world's fastest runner or some shit.

The pedantic retard exceptionalism went up their noses, into their brains, and out their dicks, holy shit.

So RT did a Roooster Teeth Animated adventure (visualizing stories told on RT podcasts) and they featured something on Death Battle Cast from three years ago.

Yeah, this episode made me excited since it threw a bunch of nods to Megaman lore but the mistakes were painstakingly obvious.

The literalization of the Internet made .exe more powerful than he actually is supposed to be; When he's fighting in a space webzone, he isn't actually fighting in space. These are physical representations of what is designed inside cyberspace but that doesn't mean the physics are the same, otherwise you're saying there's real water on the internet.

The thing that's frustrating is that every Megaman they covered truly is exceptionally powerful, but for almost none of the reasons Death Battle listed which just exemplifies their obsession with numbers and feats to a T.

Well, isn't numbers and feats the things that can settle a debate, especially a vs one? I mean, numbers and feats can be as close to black and white as you can get in a debate. All the numbers do is support the feats and break away from the hyperbole and help to settle the harder, faster, and stronger. That's probably a devil's advocate way of putting things, but what I think that's where DB is coming from when it comes to the numbers.

That's correct, but essentially the further you strip things down to numbers the less fun you have because everything about fictional debates gets solved. From that point things can only degenerate into further nonsensical pretenses and reaching to create bigger numbers, like the Megaman.EXE example and a lot of other nonsensical garbage.

So essentially you stop discussing two characters but rather you start looking at "well, my guy has bigger numbers". Everything else becomes secondary and yes, it's more accurate (within that set system) but it takes away the fun of it too.

So apparently someone on the Deviantart Death Battle Discord decided to leak screenshots of one of the show’s researchers being “LGBTphobic” as an excuse to cancel him.

Get yer torches and pitchforks, it's time fer a witch hunt.
I don’t think Death Battle has ever had a controversy that didn’t revolve around a result of an episode. This could end up being something.

Hey, I'm actually a regular from the 4chan Death Battle threads and I lurk on here too sometimes. I was actually the one to initially post those Discord screenshots cause I found them in this thread. I posted them like 4 /co/ threads or so back, and they've been reposted in each subsequent one. A new one is made almost every day. People always talk about posting them to twitter or @-ing Ben Singer with them but to my knowledge that hasn't actually happened yet.

Basically what I'm saying is that this isn't the first time those screenshots have been posted on 4chan. It's unlikely to spread from there and actually snowball into some sort of cancellation thing. Nobody from that Discord server "leaked them" onto 4chan, I just got them from this thread and shared them cause I thought they were funny.

Fair enough. WHat's the opinion of Death Battle and their shows on 4Chan?

It's split, leaning negative. Some people like the show, more people dislike the show. Generally people think that the logic they use is kinda retarded and I fall on that side. Most DB threads are actually spent talking about the few guys that constantly post in there with trips on or talking about a specific hypothetical matchup. The only real time the show is actually discussed is directly after a new episode drops.

Sounds like what I thought a 4Chan thread would be like.
