Like Black Clover is much worse than MHA because Black Clover basically does every single shonen cliche by the book while its fans are pseudo-intellectuals who act like it's subversive art. Asta is basically a Mickey-Mouse tier protagonist that is just discount Naruto, more than even Deku.

Honestly, I feel like Death Battle has been predictable to the point of parody pretty much since Goku V Superman.

From least to most important:
1) Is it an obvious stomp? The one who should lose, wins.
2) Is one of the fighters involved in a major pop culture way? I.E., a new movie dropping. If so, they win.
3) Is one of the fighters owned by Rooster Teeth? They win.

There's exceptions, but with these three steps, I've been able to pretty accurately predict most of DB.

Well, these were the most popular requests from the users on their official Discord. That should really speak to the priorities of the fanbase. You’ve got all these popular matches, episodes that are long overdue and have a strong backing by the community.

Then there’s Fall Guys vs Among Us, a match that’s Bieber vs Black levels of “Let’s cash in on this fad that will severely date our series in later years”

To be fair I don't think that was ever what DB was going for. Or else they wouldn't have gone with Natsu the terminally retarded vs Ace when one of them is highly resistant to fire and powers up through fire while the other is made of fire.
