I have the ex military album on record. I love ex military probably one of my favorite albums of right now been pretty good to listen when internet goes out and I need to start cleaning.

FUCK. I knew I should’ve gotten tickets to see them in 2023. Fuck zoomers. Why the fuck were people throwing shit at them anyways? Youd think there would’ve been enough older fans to punch some sense into them.

People throw shit at every concert and have been doing forever. It's quadruple true for shows with moshpits and DG had one of the hardest pits I've ever seen.
 
I've been listening too death grips since they leaked the money stores instrumentals on mu, it was a very fun time where I actually felt a "connection with the band" in the same ways as older generations would subscribe to music magazines to get info etc. etc.

I'm glad death grips is dying, the fan base definitely got worse after is escaped containment with Anthony fandango.

The subreddit is full of the "generations best", I followed when they were releasing "Niggas on the moon" and I'd say around the pandemic when it went fever pitch into "meme-core".

Production wise I've always enjoyed DG, I started focusing more on Zach hills side projects and exploring different math rock. Honestly I'd rather see them not release a new record, too keep there "history" in line.

Modern concerts suck, "old man yells at cloud", "Deez Dam kids got no respek" yada yada

In all seriousness, it kinda sucks. But I am glad to have enjoyed them while they were around. Such is life.
 
As much as the memeification of Death Grips played a role in their breakup, people have to remember that MC Ride is 46 years old. It’s hard to have that kind of energy for his music when you’re pushing 50, especially live.

It's not truly over. These are just words and they don't mean anything. Even Andy isn't quite sure. Ride can change his mind at any time and don't think I'm being optimistic cuz im not really a fan. I predict one final album by the end of the year.

If this was real over, wouldn't they make a statement on their official social media pages stating that it's over? Leaking the DM seems like this wasn't their intention.
 
Shouldn't be a surprise, honestly, when their last album was in 2018. It's pretty clear they didn't have plans to do much more besides touring until they knew it was time to shut it down. Shit, I don't even think they wanted to keep going after Jenny Death, but they just kept it rolling for the fans (and the money). Bands like DG, that try to really be artistic and unique with their music, don't have long lives on average.

Zoomer fanbase retardation aside, I think what we got was pretty good overall. I wouldn't be upset at all if they called it quits.

I'm not their biggest fan but if this is the end than it's safe to say they truly kept it real their entire career. They were an actual authentic group of artists who did what they wanted, when they wanted. Most importantly they didn't do anything they didn't want to, outside of maybe a few tour dates.
