I don't understand why so many here, and elsewhere, think there's some magical difference between being 16/17 and 18 years of age. Fundamentally they're both the same in terms of development. At least being 21 would allow sufficient time for the brain to be more developed and for any "power complex" to be harder to make. If you're going to raise the age of consent you might as well raise the age required for any kind of voting action.

Its pretty hard to make the case that an 18 year old isn't mature enough to make informed decisions about choices that only effect them and maybe a small group of other people(Fucking, drinking/smoking, joining the military, firearm ownership), but are somehow mature enough to make informed choices surrounding the American presidency; a decision that impacts billions of people all over the world.
