Do we have to set certain limits to whom can make their profile private?

I don't often comment on profiles if I don't have something constructive or nice to say but I am terminally nosy and love reading other people's business or why they were banned. I think being allowed to lock profile comments, which you have always been able to do, is sufficient enough if you don't want your profile to be a designated shitting street.

Honestly we already get way more grace than we're owed by Dear Feeder for the sheer amount of infighting we get up to. On the bright side, it makes it all the more nice when you can strike up conversation on non-pussy profiles!

There were already de facto "privacy" settings, it is called "profile posting" and it was always disableable;

Pissbabies literally just have to use that one account setting if being e-child stalked rustles their jimmies so hard (just use ignore you wimps), but they'd miss out on out asspats I suppose but oh well, blanket ninja profiles are simply an unnecessary measure and all it achieves is making tracking content more burdensome for no good reason, other than "anti harassment", on a fucking gossip forum of all places, cringe.

It's kinda crazy how many people with private profiles didn't even realize people couldn't see their profile because they had tried to enable the feature years ago while it was still broken and forgotten about it.

I agree, I'm completely against private profiles, why can't people talk to each other on a forum by using the profile feature.

I've noticed people with private profiles keep using other people's profiles too, which they shouldn't be able to do if they privated their own.

At least allow us to see the profile even if you can't post on it, at the very least allow us to see the little profile card at the top.

No, stalker child, you can’t view my profile. Enjoy not being able to leave comments.

there is no real reason for doing so other than avoiding getting indexed by web crawlers
I'm pretty sure setting your profile to Members Only is enough to prevent it being indexed.
Its a good middle ground to me. Like how you need an account to view private information in posts.
I see no real reason to allow everyone to set your profile so that Nobody can see, unless you're being properly harassed, someone like Caroline Farrow, etc (in which case the mods should be able to set your profile to private if you ask them nicely).
Putting it behind a paywall is a terrible idea in my opinion. But it does allow Dear Feeder to earn a lot of money from people who primarily use A&N so maybe something to ponder.
