Debate WelperHelper99 if he should serve in WW3 despite knowing the risks and the leaders of his country are assholes

And I feel I am. Not  just the family honor, though that is a big part, but also my survival, and as such, the survival of my Father's lineage. If i stay in Utah, 9/ 10 i die in a nuclear blast considering where I am. Out in combat? I'm at least either in a armored box, with access to medivac helicopters and field medics, or a factory buried deep within the country, most likely with some ballistic missile defenses around it ( think THADD or Patriot). By doing that, I've kept the family line alive, at least potentially.
Nah, it's probably lower than that since that's assuming the nuke actually goes off and isn't intercepted which is probably coinflip odds with Russian nukes. And Hill AFB isn't as high value of a target compared to all the facilities in DC, the sub bases, or electrical infrastructure in Texas and Colorado. Probably would only get one nuke.

If the nuclear war drums start beating, take an impromptu camping trip to Zion or Bryce Canyon.

As far as your family honor goes? Lemme tell you a story: two of my great uncles fought the Nahzees. One received a Bronze Star at Normandy, and the other was KIA in the Battle of the Bulge. Nearly a decade later, MeatGramps earned a Purple Heart thanks to a Chinaman in Korea.

I can say with confidence that they would not want me to experience what they did. Especially not for the clowns that rule over us.

They never liked to talk about their service, and we didn't even know that the Grunkle Meat who was at Normandy a Bronze Star until after he died. MeatGramps wouldn't even fly in a plane again; it brought back memories of being evac'd to Japan.

Do you even know what Hill does? Look it up. It is getting blasted. I am not surviving. We also have a army base here, so another area is getting hit, most likely with one of those 5 MEGATON bastards.
The only reason to join the military is to be allowed to legally kill people, and to have funny stories about retards to tell your friends and future grandkids.
I like hearing my Dad's stories, both in peace time and in wartime. I wouldn't be happy to kill people, I'll make that clear.
Otherwise, you're just voluntarily becoming a minimum-wage indentured servant for your moral inferiors.
While technically i have a choice, given my family history, stretching far back as the civil war, i feel i do not have one. Who am i to deny the call when all of them haven't
Why kill people who did nothing to you, while risking being killed for people with whom you share mutual hatred.

Save your welding skills for clients who deserve it.
The russians introduced communism to the world and infected our school systems. Cuba is also heavily armed because of them, right off the coast. China, the second threat, has taken countless welding jobs out of the country, stolen our technology, and is hellbent in turning us into pod people. I see only the lesser of evils in this situation, and at least I live in the US.

You aren't completely wrong. I'm a eagle scout, been all over, I know some places that could possibly be out of range. King's peak, tallest point in Utah, surrounded by mountains is one of them. I would send my family there if there was time. Emphasis on time.

And our own countrymen allowed those poisons to take hold, due to a confluence of complacency, misplaced empathy, and pursuit of short-term profit.

That I know. I want to see that hell first hand. A entire generation would see the horrors of China, and where we're headed. I think a lot would change after that revelation.

Nobody is there to tell you what to do. That's up to you, faggot. Your medal plastered ancestors will not roll in their grave looking at your anime-profile-having-ass dipping out of the next intercontinental dick measuring contest. Your family lineage of military servitude is far less likely to be a matter of familial honor and it's more likely a convergence of traits that are both hereditary and taught leading into a career path that looks both convenient and familiar.

One example, my own family has an extended history of being involved in education. The prestige of telling people what to do and why they're wrong is especially helpful if you have a disagreeable and extroverted disposition. Familial tendencies towards occupations are a matter of convenience because you're basically bred for it via personality traits or pure psychopathy. It's easy to choose a career when you can look at your family and look at what values are taught and passed on.

This is a really roundabout way of saying that you're not obligated whatsoever. There's no honor in war.

While I admire your family's military past and your dedication to your homeland, you should understand that eventually God Himself will send the flood and the combined RussoSino armies as a punishment for that anime avi
And exactly what autistic as fuck cartoon/comic book/whatever is your avatar from?

It's easy to say that on your end bud. Especially when your father was the last to serve and he's still alive. What am I supposed to say? I'm a coward that won't fight when you have? Bullshit. That right there is dishonorable. If I didn't, I couldn't look him in the eye again. That is where I am coming from.

Yeah, I think if you said it exactly like that word by word he'd call you a faggot. Regardless of what your father thinks of you you're the one with agency. If the humiliation of your father's disapproval outweighs any rational argument that can be made against your participation in war there's no fucking point to this thread.

I can't tell OP what to do but if you want to put your life on the line so some rich pedophile in Washington can afford more child prostitutes be my guest. You'll probably die from the incompetence of the brass rather than the enemy's guns and missiles.

Dying from incompetence is certainly a possibility. That said when I look at America then I look at the rest of the world; shit could be way worse if I was elsewhere. America isn't Washington D.C. It's 50 states. Some I like, some I don't, but when you've traveled it like I have, going from Alaska to Kentucky, I don't want to see Russian and Chinese boots stomping all over it. For good or ill, this is my home. And I'll fight for it any day.

Communism was actually introduced by the Germans, so feel free to thank them for that. Don't forget it was Marx and Engels, not Ivanov and Petrov.

But anyway, you sound like a good kid so my advice is get some training, but stay local and protect your own community instead of fucking off to fight another war for a government that hates you.
