DRG has one of my favourite game soundtracks, there's not a bad track in the lot.

The feeling of utter dread when you're running low on ammo and RUN! starts fading in is absolutely fantastic.

Rock and stone miners, rock and stone!
The Similarities to a Carpenter Brut album cannot be overlooked

Who here solos Deep Dives? I've failed several with my friends and they're like "oh it just spawns too much, it's tuned too high, I dunno" Well, I know. I know conclusively I'm not the problem.

I can do DDs as scout fairly reliably.

Elites not so much.

i just started playing DRG and it's unironically one of the most soulful games i've played of this era, the dwarves are weirdly charming to listen to while they perform actions such as calling the mule and killing enemies. rock and stone!

ROCK AND STOOOONEEEE
ive being playing co-op with a mate and we've been doing pretty good as an engi miner duo. He platforms and provide the big dug. Just getting your objectives done and telling the game to fuck off and drill straight to the extraction point is a funni meme

A wall to a miner is just a straight unobstructed path

Cleaning up virus goo is kinda annoying busywork though

The dwarves having comments about almost everything is nice. In multiplayer if you tag essentially anything with your laser pointer they will have something so say about it and even a few rare items will have Mission Control comment too. Unfortunately in single-player the Bosco commands tend to supercede the flavor lines and so you miss out on them.

I really appreciate how much love has gone into the Space Rig. There is so much to do that is just there for funsies like barrel kicking, the funny beers, the dancing, the secret button and soccer game. Its fun playing around it with friends while you waste 5 minutes for mission rotation so you don't have to be on Magma Core.

I dont mind magma core but god almighty purple weald is the fucking worst. Shithouse visibility and grass and shit everywhere. Give me some good old fashioned rock and stone everyday over this elf garbage

I don't understand why there's such a massive difficulty spike between haz 4 and haz 5.

I've reached the point where I can do haz 4 with my eyes closed but the instant I set foot in haz 5 I get oneshot before I can even notice what's happening much less figure out what I did wrong.

How are you even supposed to learn haz 5 with a spike like this?

Oh hell yeah I was just reading a good post about this like a week ago: autism.png

If you're not already using dash, it's a great panic button to have. Haz 5 is also where you'll feel it the hardest if your build isn't balanced around the biggest common threats. IMO, that's macteras (the flying ones,) crawlers (the small pink bitey ones,) slashers (spiky grunts that fucking HURT,) and praetorians (big green puking ones.) Put simply, it just means that you want to have a well-balanced combination of single-target and aoe damage, ideally with a stun, and you can reach those benchmarks with pretty much any combination of weapons and grenades, at least once you start getting the really transformative overclocks. If you want a build that you can play Haz 5 to with your eyes closed, I recommend 31222 Neurotoxin Payload on gunner's autocannon, which has great cc, aoe, range, and a DoT, so you just shoot at it pretty much fuckin anything and they get feared and die slowly and you have a billion ammo. Just pick a big secondary to shoot big glowing bug asses with and you're golden. You don't need overclocks for Haz 5 though, especially with a flexible build (though they can help scout's aoe problems out a lot.) If you want builds karl.gg is OK and if you want giga autistic weapon analysis LazyMaybe on youtube is sublime

Also don't be afraid to die a lot or look stupid or whatever. It took me fucking forever of playing Haz 5 for someone to tell me you can clear poisonous mushrooms with driller axes without consuming them, and very quickly. Apparently Haz 4 is full of troglodytes, but I have no idea. I wish they'd come up to Haz 5, this game is at it's best when the bugs hurt a lot and you're not sure what that small, angry little retard you're trapped with is going to do. Even with randoms it's all too common for an experienced group to bunch up a few times in a row, and it can get pretty routine and expedient. Nobody good at DRG would bitch you out for dying or whatever cause they'd be too happy about getting an excuse to flex or go on an extremely autistic tangent about the bug shooting game like I am right now
