The thing is McDonald's coffee was actually heated to an unsafe level. Usually you want coffee to be hot but still drinkable, but McDonald's was heating it to the boiling point and serving it like that, something no other actual coffee shop will do because it's dangerous. If you go to a normal coffee shop and stick your finger in the fresh cup you just got it would be hot but you would be fine, but McDonald's coffee would immediately give you burns.

Then they burned the genitals off an old grandma who rightfully sued to have her medical bills covered, and McDonalds chose to then slander the fuck out of her and turn her and the whole lawsuit into the late night shows big punch line. The average person is barely capable of understanding information that is immediately relevant to their personal wellbeing. This is no different on Kiwi Farms or the wider public and ideological obsessions trump the pursuit of personal wellbeing for people with an unhealthy interest in politics. If getting an ideological victory means that the regulatory leash on banks is loosened just slightly and their ability to exploit the average person increases, the average right winger will still support it because it's all team sports. If you are in power, it should be your moral imperative to exploit such people to the fullest because they deserve it.
