What should have been a happenings thread was written with the framework of being a lolcow thread, not sure why this was seemingly being initially written as a spinoff of the Elon one, with the same tone and same intent. Reads more, and has been treated so far as an Elon and orbiters thread rather than actually being about DOGE and what it's been doing. If it's being rewritten as a happening, the blatant politisperging in the OP should be cut out. A trojan horse, really? You can do better.

Elon Musk hosting a poll on a social media site filled with bots that he owns doesn't mean anything

while i'm effortposting, why don't we take a look at Wall Street Journal reporter Katherine Long, who broke the story on a teenager making edgy twitter posts. a woman with a forehead so large you could use it for astrology research

she has protected her twitter account, so no archives for tweets by her. but someone was nice enough to archive her LinkedIn

she has connections to several government programs as well as working directly for USAID. her work at USAID was "managing USAID projects in Central Asia" (A)

she also worked for the New York Times, which is yet another place that has received funding directly from the government

gee, i wonder why a glowie would want to dox someone who's turning off the money fountain that spawns people like her

Cos it was. DOGE was efficiencyfying taking over the Elon thread so this was created to try and keep it more on topic.
A happenings on DOGE especially in the aftermath of USAID would be useful, another thread for Elon a-logging is just lame. Most of the info and reactions to fed cuts are currently contained to US Politics thread 2, mixed in with everything else that includes.

Edit: You can also count the r/fednews thread, but that's mostly just reddit users freaking about Trump firing a bunch of federal employees, not DOGE's acts that are also leading to firings.

The vote being botted would mean Elon going against his stance on H1-B's if he's hiring a kid back that wants jeets gone. This conspiracy doesn't exactly add up, unless you believe he's already changed his mind. Do you?

it does mean something when the Vice President of the United States replies to that tweet, and then the President of the United States is asked about what he thinks about it and says he agrees with the Vice President

the point of the tweet is to get the idea floated for people to think about, not literally following the result of the poll. is this what you Elon Musk a loggers obsess with over in his thread? that he posts silly polls and then does or doesn't twist his life around the result? mouth breathing mongoloids

Back on DOGE specifically, I don't honestly get the tweets that account is sending (nice engagement farming with Fauci, what is this 2020?):

Maybe I'm autistic, but contracts generally have terms and if you're cancelling them midway through the contract, it's not a full savings. Again, I don't eat crayons so maybe I'm using too much brainpower. Also nice to know some pajeet is doing the DOGE tweeting because even the most dented Americans don't fuck up plural words.

DOGE can be saving billions for all I care, but 1) sure seems like money is just being "saved" and then that's it no more details and 2) eventually somebody is going to sue for breach of contract. I know Donnie loves to do that shit but doesn't typically work on most people.

DOGE has been kicked out of EHRI and eOPF. Hopefully they didn't leave anything behind or take anything with them. They probably did.

DOGE agents removed from sensitive federal personnel systems after security concerns

Several agents of billionaire Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service were removed from sensitive personnel databases maintained by the Office of Personnel Management after a Washington Post report detailed the extraordinary level of access granted to Musk’s deputies over highly guarded government data.

Directives from the agency’s interim leadership indicated that DOGE representatives should be withdrawn from two principal systems containing personally identifiable information for millions of federal employees, according to communications reviewed by The Post and people familiar with the developments who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the matter’s sensitivity.

Those systems are called Enterprise Human Resources Integration and Electronic Official Personnel Folder. They hold sensitive information about employees of most federal agencies, including addresses, demographic profiles, salary details and disciplinary histories.

The Post reported Thursday morning that DOGE agents had gained access to those systems along with “administrative” access to OPM computer systems. That allowed them sweeping authority to install and modify software on government-supplied equipment and, according to two OPM officials, to alter internal documentation of their own activities.

OPM’s interim leaders argued in a court filing this week that access to personnel databases was used simply to create a government-wide email system necessary to issue the offer of deferred resignation across the federal bureaucracy. Amid uncertainty about whether the government could renege on the offer, OPM’s interim director, Chuck Ezell, wrote a letter to agency employees on Thursday afternoon vowing, “Bottom line: Agencies will stick to the deal.” The letter arrived soon after a federal judge put the buyout program on pause in response to a lawsuit from unions representing more than 800,000 federal workers.

Unfortunately, Elon Musk is fake and gay. I do not respect his opinion. He is a well documented liar who buys his way into relevancy. Is that a man you would trust with anything?
A 50 minute video from some random Youtube commentary community guy isn't exactly what I'd use to back that statement up. He's a billionaire who does billionaire things, yet he's one of the few businessmen who seems to only be able to run companies that are prospering ridiculously, if he were this terrible businessman who's all ego and buying into things just for the relevancy, he'd have crashed and burned hard at some point yet he's like an autist savant with finding the money printer despite retarded shit he says on Twitter, he would've ended up a millionaire at best if he was so awful. Trumps' lost out harder than he has business wise. DOGE also isn't just Musk.

Why are we supposed to care about him having info on federal employees that do not care about most of the citizenry, and are indeed who DOGE was brought in to cut out? I doubt they'll be out for long. Federal judges do not have the power that they like to act as if they wield.

I already had a copy of my SF-50 but I know of 1 person that could not access theirs out of the blue yesterday. I can't really think of the point of going through employee records, unless they're going to use AI to purge, which would make no sense.

God, how many fed employees do we have on here? About makes the point on how bloated the system has gotten. Jersh was right in blocking .gov emails to weed some out, even if there were lols to be had. Anyways, if you can use AI to automatically fill out and search for docs for a bunch of employees that are now going to be irrelevant, and can subsequently be fired, why not? As long as it's manually reviewed after, while you can't entirely trust the output, it can help speed things up.

Fed employment records should be public. They are paid by tax payers.
I can look up the pay and job title of every single person who works for my state and city. I can look up what the local librarian or state trooper made last year to the cent but FEDS need privacy? Why?
