Im not going to watch the video, but I can tell just based on the thumbnail this is a topic he covered over 7 years ago in 2018. It was a section in the inaugeral episode of 'This Week in Stupid', where Dev predicts Starbucks will not exist in 2023 due to their permissive drug policy training manual that had leaked.
He's just reusing topics now. South Africa land grabs next.

It is a recap of this event, and largely covering the decline of social attitudes towards public hangouts like Starbucks. The video opens with Starbucks saying that they will no longer allow non-paying customers to "loiter" in their facilities, and Dev explains the long process of how we got here. It isn't a bad video for people who haven't been paying attention, but a fairly useless one for people who have been.

I hate him because he's an honest-to-god statist. There's a very specific set of traits that go hand-in-hand with that, none of which are remotely trustworthy.

In my entire life, I have never known anyone with that combination of traits be anything other than a backstabbing prick.

Would you do us the honor of describing those traits in a small list? i know that lack of goverment skepticism and high subserviancy and complacancy are a few of those.

I mean, the guy died in the region. Whether you think it was because he was spreading misinformation or doing real journalism is a partisan issue, but that doesn't change the fact that he was arrested by the Ukrainian government and the US was unwilling to extradite him out of the country.

But consider that this is how he survives after the X-posting shitshows. That's how he got me as a fan. I am a zoomer, I was not old enough to know the intricacies of Gamergate. Or the state of the world, or politics. That's why I watched him thinking he was "educating" me. Dev can rely on the support of ignorant millenials or zoomers who will trust the first source of information they find. (Not bad on its own, but detrimental if you reject any other source of information.)

If he is going to keep up this fencesitting routine, then I think he has a fair chance to maintain a presence on the Internet and continue to be succesful for a few more years, meaning this slump he is facing will eventually be overcome. Both the liberal athiest and radical leftist Internet communities have been deeply embedded for over a decade. Dev will continue to subsist, like a cockroach. I would give props to him if he wasn't so retarded.

I'm still waiting for the leaf to justify the absolute extremes, he's already downplayed Ruby Ridge, Waco, the Congress bombing (Which I only learned about recently, thank you revisionism). I'm talking shit like Mao, Nazi Germany, Soviet Union etc. I think he's just slightly above that level of retardation, but you never know with him.

However, regardless of how self-aware he is, Dev definitely would be the rat who turned you in to the Gestapo without a second thought, after all the government is your friend, they would never do anything against your best interests, right?

I believe it was Cicero (I might be wrong, I am paraphrasing here) who said that a child who defended his father in court would be a better citizen and thus more loyal to the state than a child who would sell out their father. When asked about this, he explained that by defending his father, the child was in turn being loyal to the system. Children willing to sell out their parents, he argued, would be only too willing to sell out their city and ultimately country - and thus, that they could not be trusted. Someone willing to defend their family despite the risks is thus, by definition, being a loyal citizen.

Now obviously, this does not apply in every case - no one is going to think less of a child who turns in his father for major crimes (murder, pedophilia, etc), since those will be ruinous for all involved if not stopped. However, the point being made stands: someone who is willing to sell out their own family for something more minor is absolutely the kind of person who will sell you out for a shot of promotion or exploit you without a second thought. Look at lolcows we have that are persistent snitches and proficient backstabbers like Laurelai Bailey and Devi Ever and you see specific patterns of behavior patterns of behavior that are pretty much hand-and-hand with the defining traits of antisocial personality disorder.

Legit statists tend to have many of these same traits, which, you'll note, our boy Dev also has: Ignoring right and wrong, telling lies to manipulate and/or take advantage of other people, insensitivity towards the emotions of others, an inflated sense of self-superiority, feeling absolutely zero guilt about harming or wronging others, perpetually failing to fulfill personal responsibilities at home and on the job - the list goes on, and Dev has the exact same traits, even if he hasn't left quite the same level of wreckage in his wake.

I started making a giant text wall response of my own to try to respond to what he said—but after a while, it wears on you.

These are the main takeways from / responses to Dev's post:
  • He still thinks that he's a "moderate" just because he's widely disliked by people on both the left and the right.
  • His underlying inclination seems to be to defer to and practically worship whatever the law says, just because it's law.
    • Even though I'm sure that he wouldn't support slavery just because it was legal, or oppose miscegenation just because it was illegal.
  • He has a conception of the American right wing in his head which is basically just "people who worship the Constitution" in the same way that he slavishly defers to the law.

  • He doesn't get that the right wing supports the ideas behind the Constitution—rather than seeing the Constitution as some infallible thing that could never get abused, or even that it could be implemented improperly.
  • He doesn't get that the Constitution exists to recognize our preexisting rights—and that it doesn't grant us those rights like a permission slip.
  • He doesn't get that the right wing sees the Constitution as a means to an end (preserving our rights and ensuring our prosperity), and that the right would drop the Constitution if stopped accomplishing (or even impeded) those ends.
  • He's disappointed that the American right isn't living up to his caricature of them—which does seem genuine (if ill-conceived), but it also reminds me a bit of when leftists try to pass off illegal immigration with a random bible quote about doing charity or some shit.

  • He just straight-up believes the accounts of random fired federal workers who told Rolling Stone that they're actually totally important and crucial to the functioning of government, and definitely not DEI leeches who just rebranded their job title sometime between November 5 and January 20.
  • He doesn't get that Congress can pass whatever budget they want to, and that it is then entirely up to the Executive how—or even if—he wants to implement it.
  • I'm not sure whether he understands that the entire rest of the Executive "branch" is solely the product of the Executive delegating his authority, and that every Executive Agency exists in order to implement his will.
  • He wandered into the minefield of "Independent Agencies" (like USAID), which I would argue are a legal fiction that shouldn't be able to exist outside of the Executive branch.
  • His main gripe is that Trump isn't just rubber-stamping whatever already exists as implemented by past Congresses.
  • This apparently makes the whole right wing no longer the "PARTY OF THE CONSTITUTION" and therefore they're all morally bankrupt in his eyes.

  • He thinks that he's the last fair and honest guy left out there, just calling balls and strikes while everyone else on the left and right is just as bad as one another now.
  • He thinks that the right has become the exact same as the left, with their own "echo chambers" and "safe spaces," purging internal dissent, not being able to defend their own arguments—all just more shit proving that he does not listen to anything that a single right-winger has to say.
    • Like, just go watch one (1) Auron MacIntyre video if you need an easy entry point. The right wing is not hiding what they believe. They're constantly debating and reassessing ideas. This is nothing like the progressive orthodoxy that would get you fired for misgendering a coworker. These two groups are just not the fucking same. Dev is insane here.
  • He blames people on the right for refusing to debate with leftists now, when
    • 1. who the fuck are these people on the left who are suddenly agreeing to talk to the right after a decade of refusing to?
    • 2. why should people on the right agree to debate with people who have been so bad-faith in the past?
  • He thinks that Sargon specifically owes his political opponents more of his time, and he's annoyed that Sargon doesn't want to listen to them or that he won't debate them.
    • The dude is running his own business and has four young children. No shit he's not gonna make time for every random commie on YouTube like it's still 2013.
  • He still has as little self-awareness as he always did—so he interprets other people like Sargon examining and extrapolating on the things that he would say as them "strawmanning" him.
    • Apparently, this is why Dev has split from Sargon. I didn't even notice it.

I said it on the CRP thread, whether or not you agreed with/liked him, getting arrested for talking shit about a country, then dying because you were denied medical care in prison goes against all western values.
 
More importantly this is not 2014 anymore. Sargon is in a fascist nation that arrests people for trivial posts online. Debating leftists would be the worst thing Sargon could do. At best the leftist can just say whatever extremist nonsense they want and Sargon just takes it. Or he chooses to debunk it, is viewed as a nazi and has the billy waggon waiting for him outside.

  • Dev thinks that right-wingers literally fucking "invented" the idea that Trump was being persecuted by Biden's DOJ and by politically-aligned state prosecutors.
  • Dev thinks that giving an example like "DEI seminars" is an accurate characterization of the scale of the money that the US government was wasting and the reason for the graft—and that DOGE should just be going after that kind of stuff instead.
    • No, no, there wasn't any corruption going on! The entire federal government hadn't been hollowed out and turned into a left-wing slush fund over the last 60 years! No! It was just a few well-intentioned people who got a little out of hand and ran a course on the weekends!
      • Literally the exact same kind of minimizing as a decade ago when leftists would defend critical race theory as "just an academic theory, just some tiny thing that's on a few college campuses."
      • God I hate this leaf faggot.
  • Dev thinks that Elon Musk gets preferential government contracts now that he's involved with DOGE, and that right-wingers are apparently cheering on this corruption because they're all just cartoon villains and/or retards in his mind or something.
    • Elon's companies are the only ones that do half of the shit that he does (like reusable spaceships or starlink), so who the fuck else even could get some of these contracts?
    • Does Dev know that Elon was getting these contracts under Biden, too?
  • Dev didn't follow Vee's quip about "not being part of the conversation" so badly that he might honestly be autistic.
  • Dev thinks that the most likely outcome in Ukraine is that other European countries "re-arm" and intervene in Ukraine.
  • Dev doesn't know that European countries do not have the manufacturing capacity to "re-arm" such that they could start fighting Russia.
    • Nor does Ukraine have enough manpower to send those arms to, were those arms ever to be made.
    • Nor do those other countries have enough manpower in their own armies in order to intervene in Ukraine themselves.
    • Nor would it be smart to do that.
    • Nor is any of this the only fucking alternative to Russia somehow magically invading the rest of Europe like we're playing the campaign of MW3. Negotiate with them, you dumb nigger. Or just wait for them to take literally every part of Ukraine that they want (since they're winning anyway, who's gonna stop them), and then act all confused when they reach a point that they don't want to go past and they just stop.
  • Dev thinks that anyone who disagrees with his atrociously-uninformed takes on the Ukraine issue is "guzzling Russian semen."
  • Dev is flippantly cruel, just like every other shitlib.
