Maybe it's just because I don't hate the guy all that much, but I think Dev's video was mostly fine. Everyone always uses the biological argument, but it was interesting to discuss that even by the more subjective perspectives (social interpretation of what a woman is, self-identification, etc.) you still can't abide by the phrase Trans Women are Women with the assumption that it applies to all trans women. It reminds me a bit of Black Lives Matter, where in theory it's all black lives but in practice it's just the ones that the left supports and the rest can get fucked for all they care.

Even if I disagree with it I can at least see the argument that dysphoria should count. As opposed to the the other justifications purely based on social construction, gender/sex dysphoria is based on that objective biological perspective - your brain chemicals are telling you that your physical sex is one that it's not. This is still clearly a mental illness but if people like that were the only ones transitioning I'd personally be a lot more okay with saying they're women from a societal perspective, even if they still will never be women from a biological perspective (outside of some space future where medicine has advanced enough to straight up twist DNA and gamete production) in the same way that Dev points out we talk about infertile women still being women even if taxonomically they'd be eunuchs. As always it's the perverts and the clout chasers that ruin the concept for everyone else, and the trans community doesn't gatekeep any of these degenerates so this is just the logical end result.

It's worth pointing out that there's forms of dismorphia that also include feeling incomplete due to having a limb, and wanting it amputated.
