Because they are. I think Dev shows a little of this in the video. They want the morals of the bible codified into US law. Including a removal of the separation of church and state. They don't push for games like First Descendant censored now because it's not practical, but they make no qualms about pushing for it once Trump takes office. Dev even shows a comment saying "you can't stop us" or words to that effect.
Dev is a liar though. And yes I admit that "faction" exists. There is no political will to make it reality. The last time politicians touched Vidya in the US was with Starwars Battlefront 2 and the lootbox shit, which was about gambling regulations, not censorship. Because gambling is actual serious buisness to the feds.
We can call them tradcuck, tradcons, woke right, whatever label you like. It doesn't change their ideology. It's also ones a lot of Christians don't like, judging from the comments I've seen. Some even pointing to some bible quote about Caeser and paying taxes.
I'm thinking about the Caesar story. That was a tale of living WITHIN the government. Ergo, follow the law no matter your beliefs. That sounds like misinterpretation. Because that story is anathema to "take control, censor everything!".
They were offended by arse, but that's pedantry.
Let's say Dev is a gooner, and the video is just want I want to hear. Is Dev wrong? No.
DreadRoberts was "pro gooning" 3 months ago. Melonie Mac is "pro gooning" provided it's games she personally likes. All 3 (plus thier supporters) are making the same arguments and using the same tactics as the "woke" they've been complaining about for the last decade or more, doing the same shit older gamers saw in the 90s and 00s. They got dunked on and couldn't handle it.
Dev may not be technically wrong. I did eventually finish the video. I will grant you that.
I look at his position in making the video though. From the lolcow perspective, he was making this 2 hour diatribe with one hand. Even if he is "right", all these people are hypocrites and Sunday Christians for lack of a better term, looking at Dev's motivation, I don't think it was about the censorship.
And I'm also going to say, I don't want censorship. Have your ass/tits/whatever. I stand by my stance that if a game isn't fun; i.e. shovelware, nobody is going to play your titty game. That's what differentiates Bayonetta from any Steam hentai game nobody actually buys. It's fun and not from the ass crack of LJN.
If you make a 2 hour defense mode video long after the controversy passed however... I'm going to laugh. Because in the end, this is what makes Dev a lolcow. His inability to shut up about his horniness.
