Arch argues for focusing only on popularity, if it's safe to shit on a game you can stand by your principles, but when you go against popular opinion you have to throw away your principles and just accept that you lost or just pretend that you won somehow.
"Pick your battles" but that's the problem, Arch only goes into battles when there are already people fighting for him and he just sits on the sidelines agreeing with the majority. He doesn't want to upset the normies because he thinks majority makes a difference through a "democratic" process, but that's bullshit, We have seen time and time again creators being promoted by their beliefs and not their popularity and success.
As you said KCD3 will probably have more woke shit and Vavra, because of the success of KCD2, will be able to work on other games and franchises with the same mindset. They won because the "influencers" didn't want to lose subscribers.(at least not those who are center-left or left)
There's no hope of victory with this strategy, they've already surrendered the ground, what's the point of protesting after the village is destroyed by the orcs you let in?
One thing you have to understand is that creators like Arch, Dev, and everyone who goes to EFAP hate christians rightoids more than they hate woke far-leftists,, they just go against them because they've become too unhinged and unpopular making right-wing side more attractive to normies.

I don't care what normies do. If they want to happily eat shit, that's their prerogative. What I object to is Arch's insistence that we claim ownership of shit to ingratiate ourselves with normies. Is it just me, or has dev somehow become even more egotistical and smug recently? He was always a delusional prick, but he's been giving off almost God complex vibes lately.
Dev categorized these two people primarily as "people who hate me". Not rightoids, not individuals of <insert specific politics here> persuasion. No, the primary identifying characteristic to dev is whether or not you like him.
The clip in this vid struck me as particularly unhinged. He can't rationalize that people might just hate him because of the things he does. He won't even entertain the idea there there are people with strong well thought out disagreements with him. He really thinks everyone who dislikes him does so in bad faith, knowing that he's right.
He genuinely came out and said that everyone who disagrees with him knows he is right and knows they aren't able to match him intellectually. Just God fucking damn that's wild, this 30 something fat slug thinks he is a living breathing Gary Stu. Absolute utter lunacy. Not a shred of humility or self awareness in that fat skull.

I feel like this has been going on for quite a while, forgive me for posting so soon. I guess this has been due to ACE1918, us in this thread and others holding him accountable. As the narcissist (and borderline sociopath - I believe) that he is, he cannot stand that. And now there are only two types of people: those who are 100% behind him, and those who are against him (bahd faif, what have you).
He's in for a tough lesson.

Off topic. I'm not sure Spoon is much better than Dev. I mean, he's got principles, and I can respect him for MOSTLY being consistent. But, he just comes across to me as a boomer conservative plucked from the 80s. I've read the literature on libertarian monarchy, I think there are better options, but I'm open to the idea. But, that's not even what Spoon wants from what I can tell. He just wants a straight dictatorship to enforce his own faggoty vision of "right wing culture".

It's a weird line to walk. I have a few companies I refuse to give my time/money (Epic and their Epic Store for example) out of principle, even if there are products they have that are good. But, most people don't care about the small bad things I don't like when they receive free games, etc.
Same thing goes here.
Though, on top of that, I think the examples you chose speak more to why people have less a problem with KCD2, which is that its not a fucking boring/bad game. People like Baldur's Gate 3 despite the cringe shit, and same thing here. You can stand on principle and not play it, but because the game is good there will always be people willing to set aside their principles, especially when we are in a drought of non shit AAA games.

I can support a monarchist, because at least when it fails when get heads on chopping blocks. As opposed to the illusion of choice we have in elections. Where a corrupt politicaian only retires in disgrace, crying them selves to sleep on millions of dollars of ill gotten gains.
Not saying a monarchy is a good way to govern, but we have dynasties like the Clintons, and the Kennedys, can you really say we just didn't rename the system.

That's SinglePlayerCarl, he's friends with Dev and has an account here due to some streamer drama I still don't understand.
He has stuck by supporting Dev even after all of his X blowups, which I bet is probably because those blowups happened under Carl's radar. Even so when I brought up the worrying stances of Dev, Carl still stood by Dev.
I guess they have been friends for so long that some pesky opinions of how Corey Comperatore's murder was somehow justified by a Putin joke, or claiming January 6th is a coup attempt, won't get in the way of their friendship. That's commendable, if the friend he was standing up for wasn't Dev.
