Though, on top of that, I think the examples you chose speak more to why people have less a problem with KCD2, which is that its not a fucking boring/bad game. People like Baldur's Gate 3 despite the cringe shit, and same thing here. You can stand on principle and not play it, but because the game is good there will always be people willing to set aside their principles, especially when we are in a drought of non shit AAA games.

Synthetic Man defined woke in simple terms in his Baldur's Gate 3 video. Woke is Cultural Marxism. That is basically anything, even a smidge, of Leftist propaganda. And no, it doesn't have to be forced. It is any messaging at all, even if it is subtle. What faggots like Arch, Dev, Az, Legendary Drops, Upper Echelon, EFAP, etc dance around is needing to allow some woke but not all for some arbitrary reason. They never say where the line is, but they always act like everyone knows. When is something too far and something is not?

They will say something like, "as long as it is not forced on the player. PLAYER CHOICE!!" That is stupid. "You push buttons, gamer" is a stupid argument because a game will never give you the option to rape children until they are dead and bleeding and then say it is ok because is is optional and you press buttons. And we know if there was game where you can play as a nazi and put jews in ovens or gas them but say, "it is optional" then these people would still whine and cry that the game should not exist.

Yeah, its a flaw in the basic bitch game critic sphere. My point is more why people generally suddenly allow good stuff even when it has those issues.

I personally am not hard-line on content in games, because in the end I'm aiming to be entertained, not educated by games. That said, I haven't even played a single one of the games people mention in this whole thing, outside of a pirated copy of Dustborn just to suffer through it with a friend.

I really hate this line, almost as much as "it doesn't affect the gameplay." If you ever hear that, know that you are undoubtedly speaking to a sub 60 IQ nigger cattle without a single thought in their head. They will go on about how the writing, graphics, and music don't affect the gameplay, but everyone with a brain knows that is bullshit.

What is gameplay? It is what happens on screen when the player interacts with the game. That interaction is what defines and separates videogames from the traditional mediums - but, it is those mediums which are affected by the interaction. Reach a certain point in the game, and you watch a scene between characters with music that makes you feel a certain way. A boss battle follows, with strong ties to the story you're deeply fascinated by. The graphics of the scene remind you of classical pieces of art you've seen. All of this is gameplay.

To say that any of these aspects don't affect gameplay is to deny what makes video games special in the first place. It is an admission that you care nothing for the medium, that you have no respect for it. As if classic Koji Kondo and Jun Ishikawa soundtracks could just be substituted for any random soundcloud artist, and this wouldn't affect the gameplay of The Legend of Zelda or Nightmare in Dreamland. Confronted with this logic, not one person who makes this claim would double down on it. Not one person who actually plays and respects video games would seriously argue that you could hire Neil Druckmann to rewrite the plot of their favorite game, and expect the gameplay to remain the same. Or swap the vocabulary of their favorite book to a fourth grade level and expect the reading to remain the same.

Of course all of this is usually dismissed by "lol autist they're just toys for children" but that begs the question of why they care in the first place. I wish they actually believed that, because then they would stop infecting my hobby with this horrific malaise.

It's also important to remember the developer lied and hid all the controversial shit. Vavra the lead was also part of gamergate and then decided to add all said woke shit in the sequel.
This isn't just some independent developer adding gay choices, but a person who sold out to embracer and intended to rug pull the audience by hiding everything until release.

No one is asking him to cancel the dev, but admit that we shouldn't trust and reward such behavior. His entire idea of we should claim every game you can't cancel is retarded because would be claim Veilguard if it didn't fail. He's just a hypocrite who can't just say he likes the game and is sad what happened to it.

And to bring it back on topic, if Arch thinks it’s ok to speak out of both sides of your mouth to “win”, then he’s a lot more like Dev then his audience probably would like to give him credit for.

Makes sense why he never cut him loose.

I think Arch kind of just skated by because everyone around him was more retarded like Dev, Vee, or Sargon plus until now he never had any real friction with his own fan base.
The people who super hated him has always been the Warhammer community and they rather just call him racist and ban discussion about him.
