What happened during Maidan was that bunch of armed protesters stormed goverment buildings in Kiev . And as result new goverment was put in charge made exclusively out parties that supported protests. This goverment despite lacking democratic mandate passed laws that reshaped political system in Ukraine.

It makes sense, though I disagree with you. There is the argument of "but who gets to decide whats vulgar?"

But I look at it as letting others hang themselves with their own tounges. Making people try to be smarter through censorship means that the actuall low IQ people will just impersonate smarter people and then you never see who the real idiots are. Dev is a great example. For years he's tried to keep his channel nice and squeaky clean. And if you went only by the videos he makes, you might think he's a smart and decent person. But then let him jump on X and who he really is shines through. In the end I'd rather see the truth even if it is ugly because that ACTUALLY makes me safer and lets me make better choices.

And in the end, the people who are actually creative, smart, and intrested in creation of good things are going to do that no matter what laws are in place. I've never read Neuromancer but the way I've heard it described, is a book with the view that technology doesn't make us better. It just enables us to better be what we really are in our hearts, for good or bad. And I view the idea of free speech and vulgarity the same kind of way.

I quite literally did separate the things that make up gameplay, to demonstrate how the argument that "x doesn't affect gameplay" doesn't hold water. The people who disagree with this are the ones incapable of such separation - they believe that the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts, no matter what.

I, on the other hand, know better. I know that if you put different parts into something, it affects the whole. If you use different tools to paint with, it affects the viewing experience. If you use different instruments to compose with, it affects the listening experience. If you use different words to write with, it affects the reading experience. So how the fuck does using different elements of game design not affect the gaming experience, aka the gameplay?

It is a ludicrous position to take. There is a reason you aren't satisfied with playing Tetris without the music over and over, just as there is a reason you aren't satisfied with reading the same book over and over, or listening to the same song.

As for your weird political aside, I have no idea why you mentioned it which is why I didn't reply to it the first time.
