This is also why J6 stings so hard for Dev. Because regardless of what actually happened, it was undoubtedly the Right taking direct action. Be it a coup, a riot, or a protest; J6 was the Right flipping the table and ending any possibility of compromise or neutral standing. The status quo was rendered untenable at that moment and faith in institutions plummeted because of the vain attempts to maintain it.

Or in other words, the fence sitter is pissed that the fence got torn down by one faction going against another. And the lines haven't been redrawn. There isn't a fence anymore, not one this close to the action. And he picked the side against who he sees as the aggressors. Because even if the Left instigated the conflict, the Right were the ones that tore down HIS fence.
 
I love this idea that My Heckin Good Boy Institutions (tm) haven’t done ANYTHING to erode trust in themselves.
It’s not like we’re constantly uncovering how much they’ve screwed us over, while feeling the effects of them continuing to do it everyday.

The institutions shredded confidence in the institutions. If people had confidence in the institutions, nobody would have voted for him. I say this as someone who... heavily endorses what MAGA wants, but doesn't actually have much faith in Trump.
