I remember how hopeful people were when D4 got teased. Posting the dev interviews and being like "OUR BOYS!". And yet, ironically D4 won the ARPG race because PoE2 shat the bed and Titan Quest was a Morbius meme. "No no, please! Release dlc! we'll buy it!... lmao".

Warlock is everything I should be excited for but I'm just not feeling it. I saw a picture of a female warlock, apparently they're roided as fuck? So they're not robe-wearing cultists but 'if not by magic, by my hands' chads?

What are you talking about, Grim Dawn and Last Epoch and others still exist. Diablo 4 didn't win shit, only desperate no taste retards like you and that polack ever bought this game. Same goes for Diablo 2 remastered, the original still exists.

because it is, Souls Stones are shards of the World Stone, which was essentially the Heart/Brain of the Creator God of the Diablo universe.

it was used to create Sanctuary, it can warp reality to an extent, and its shards can house Prime Evils, beings that are living conceptual entities, Mephisto isn't just "The Lord of Hatred", he IS Hatred the Concept, embodied, as are all the other Lords of Evil, they are 1 of the 7 heads of Tathamet, the Concept of Evil the Creator God expunged from himself and they both killed each other, the 7 heads of Tathamet because the Lords, the Body became the Hells, and the "maggots" became the demons.

God's body became the Heavens, his light became the Angels, and his Soul/heart/brain became the Worldstone, so yes, the Stone is of equal import to the Lords, however, they are tuned and shaped by man, and thus are imperfect prisons.

I don't like Neyrelle dying here, what a waste of the last expansion, saving her was supposed to be the one feat we pull off, the one being to ever bond with a Soulstone with a Prime and live, and she dies to a neck snap by Jesus.

and Warlocks are the Melee Caster hybrid, they get in the thick of it because their blood courses with demonic power, just like D&D Warlocks, really.

Diablo 4 is a better game than POE2, not POE1, or even Diablo 2 (obviously), but its absolutely a better game than POE2, by a fucking country mile, and the expac only widens the gulf.

Diablo 2 Remastered is just Diablo 2 with better graphics, I'm not playing a game at like 640x480 buddy.
 
Last Epoch was hyped for all of 3 days and even while I agree Grim Dawn is goated kino type shit fr fr og, they teased an expansion.. 3 years ago? Still no release date, and they're busy making a second game about city building. GD is by no means a all-hands-on-deck game. Then again the genre itself is getting the fighting game genre treatment: The genre defining game, Diablo, is one of if not -the- primary game. Same way Tekken shot itself in the foot and now Street Fighter -is- the fighting game genre.

Either way: I'll probably buy the expansion and have a decent time. I generally enjoy the game and got quite far in a few of the seasons, but never as far as clearing them like I did in Diablo 3. I really liked how you were rewarded a tier set immediately to start farming the one you actually want. I still default to necro but Warlock seems more my speed. I prefer a few stronger minions than 30, and while druid covers that need in D2, I hate druid in D4. Warlock will make or break it for me. Hope they stick with the mercenary concept though.

Also, yet to beat D2. It's one of those games like vanilla WoW where I just once in my fucking life want to clear it on normal.
 
Neyrelle needs to fuck right off. She didn't work in the base game, she didn't work in Vessel of Hatred and I don't want to deal with her in the next expansion. Kill her off for good and salt the earth, don't be nu-Blizzard and bring her back in a fake out death to DBZ her power level.
 
Read up on some of the legendaries and skill changes:

Man, warlock sounds fucking great. Every demonology ability summons a demon and the modifiers summon even more. The ultimate is a pet demon that stays around full-time. I fucking love the idea of bombardment; throwing demons at enemies and then they stick around, half-mutilated to keep attacking.

Oh and necro can have buttloads more skeletons. I am feeling genuinely hyped now. I'll probably buy the entire uh.. battlepass? Whatever that system is. Hopefully it's very warlock themed as the preorder cosmetics are too. I completed a lot of the D3 season passes but they were pretty simple compared to the slop of D4, and the rewards were simple. A pet, a frame, wings or whatever. This reliquary crap is somewhat feasible but still retarded.

We're so back. I loved Diablo lore during D3 and I still need to read the Sin War trilogy. I really hope they bring back more angel shit in D4, the world seems so isolated and empty? Yeah it was a bit overkill to face a new named demon every D3 expansion but it sure as shit beats how devoid of importance D4 feels. Where Diablo? Lilith was a pushover as well.

So how is Diablo 4 ? From what I've heard it was pretty meh, but there is another addon coming out, and I'm going to assume that it got a lot of patches in the past. Is it good and can stand on its own or trying to emulate D2 too much ?

It's the second best modern ARPG behind POE, it's more casual than POE, but id argue the combat is better, because POE is a game of solving never having to engage in mechanics or combat.

It's a looter, there's tons of looting to be had, it has strong class flavor

It was meh at best when it launched, but credit where credit is due Blizzard has made the game A LOT better with patches and the first expansion. The new expansion launches in few days and it looks lime it will make the end game a lot better, but we can't be 100% sure until we actually get to play it. Personally I would say that it's definitely worth checking out if you like ARPGs.

What the fuck are you talking about? It is hated because it is NOT just Diablo 2 with better graphics, it fundamentally changes the game and it's balance in ways that are inferior to the original. Oh, and the graphics are also not "improved", they are ugly as sin, then again if you are so low IQ that you won't play an older game because "muh graphics" then you deserve to play a hamster wheel simulator like Diablo 4. Explains your absolutely godawful takes in the rest of the subforum.

they've had esoteric demonic circles since the start, and D4 most of all, though each Prime has its own symbols and circles, but to be clear, this is not a Earth orgin world, there is no God or Satan here, in any christian way at least, though Akarat is so on the nose Jesus it is funny.

Don't listen to that retard, D4 is not the 2nd best arpg by a mile, and certainly doesn't have a better combat than poe by 10 miles.
PoE has tons of skill options and movement skills to let you tackle labyrinths with traps, in D4, you simply stand and wait till the traps is over.
D4 is the plain water arpg for casuals who cannot pour some brainpower or commitment. The game is arguably better than it's vanilla state, but it's endgame and challenges is still lacking. Every league is just helltide creatures with a different color, even the devs meme on this. Your powers literally comes from levelling, you can get all your perfect gear from somebody, and you will still be ohko and can't scratch a single mob on higher difficulty tiers because you simply haven't levelled up enough.
D4 have way better cinematics and art though, that part they are unbeatable.

uh yea, it its the 2nd best MODERN ARPG, not the 2nd best ever, its not even in the top 10.

I already said POE is superior, what more do you want, the POE cock sucking never ends, everyone knows its the best, I admit its the best, what can be fucking said here.

every fuckin class, every one of them, have multiple movement abilities, even the Necro, who is the most limited, does as well.

leveling is done in a blink, so its irrelevent, its not like POE where leveling is a real deal thing, you are 60 in a fucking few hours, all of the power comes from gear.

"Modern" arpg? No, all arpgs are old school style stat sticks where the enemy's attacks are faster and mostly can't be dodged, even poe. It's almost all stat sticks, either you can or you can't kill/survive.

The only modern arpg is PoE2, alone in that field unchallenged. It's entire Act 4 already blast the entire D4 campaigns and expansions.

Sure PoE2 has a lot of problems here and there, but judging it alone on it's quality, it's undeniably great. It has even made the best Druid archetype in the entire arpg genre, and I don't even like druids.

PoE2's biggest problem is attracting a majority of PoE1 players who desire it play more like PoE1.

Dude, I wish D4 plays great too, I really do, there's no benefit for arpg lovers if D4 sucks, but it sucks. It took 11 seasons and they can't do anything worthwhile with the content. Are the new classes good? Sure, but good classes mean nothing if there is no good content to play it on. And they literally have PoE to copy and learn from but they didn't learn anything at all. They revamped loot for how many times already? Because they don't even understand what they want to do with loot and what makes a loot compelling.

There's literally no avenue for theory crafting in D4 outside the archetypes they've already prepared, and the pattern is already the same, make new classes op and broken, then nerf them next season.

Here, I'll throw you a bone, PoE mtx prices are evil.

and POE2 still isn't a proper ARPG, because they aren't hunting for better gear, you are hunting for currencies to simply buy the peice of gear you want, because as is, right now, the statistical odds of you getting/crafting (in POE2 its just pure Gamba) a great weapon is so slim its not worth thinking about, the odds are Lottery tier.

no, you simply farm up Divines and buy it, they you use your new power to get more currencies, they cut out the "looting" for gear almost entirely until they add better crafting.
 
Man. Good thing I wasn't playing LoH for the plot. Watched the cutscenes online and ffs Blizzard (and most big Western studios) just can't write even a mid plot anymore can they?
