Let's Sperg Did Spec Ops The Line Ruin Gaming?

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
It was neat. I still replay it from time to time just like I rewatch Apocalypse Now from time to time. Extra Credit's take on the game damned it to the hands of soys. "Stop playing" is a shitty argument that never should've been taken seriously by anyone. As is "it's a horror game", because that sets the wrong expectations. It's a "CODclone" more interesting than any COD and that's pretty cool.

I hate how he is obviously aware that everybody and his mom has been ripping off a heart of darkness for decades now but actually has the audacity to frame this artsy cover shooter slop game as being the ultimate expression of that specific cultural canon.
How brain damaged do you have to be, to not enjoy apocalypse now but instead fucking spec ops: the line?
Holy shit. Sorry for attacking you , op.
And sorry for making a case in defense of that game, I can see now what kind of people this game is for and I don't want to be part of that, no thank you!
I recant. And wont play it ever.

Spec Ops is a metaphor for how you, the player, ruined video games. You think you were railroaded and didn't have a choice, but in reality you could've won by not playing anymore.
