Digimon

That new Superman cartoon is a kids show too and it's on adult swim for some reason.
Don't forget that shows like Samurai Jack were kids shows (at least Samurai Jack was until the fifth and final season that came out almost a decade ago), and they aired on Adult Swim

That's part of a "Rewind" they're doing on Friday nights now. First season of Digimon would fit right in should they go for it, but you know they won't.
They could possibly air those newly dubbed movies that are coming out from discotek. You never know, but we haven't even had a release of them yet. Except for a showing at a convention.

Toonami didn't care about tri. or 2020. They aren't going to care about Ghost Game either.

If that GG dub is still happening, I assume it'll just get dumped on Microsoft/Hoopla followed by Hulu like 2020. Dragon Quest Dai's dub got released the same way.

It's a step in the right direction this Friday with the TV premiere of the Viz Sailor Moon dub. But with that they are re-running DBZ Kai for the millionth time...Two episodes..Something else would have been better in one of those slots. Kai is overdone.

They only have Sailor Moon because Viz made a bunch of their shows free to view online. I wouldn't be surprised if Inuyasha and Death Note come next since those are free as well. This block is being totally mismanaged, especially considering Tubi has a great selection of old anime for free. Tubi has the Unicron Trilogy, Cardcaptor Sakura, Medabots, Photon Idiot Adventures, Samurai Troopers, Yu-Gi-Oh, Futari wa Precure, Sonic X, as well as some other anime that could make original premieres like Harlock, Galaxy Express 999, Giant Gorg, Megazone 23, MADOX-01, Rayearth, and even some tokusatsu with Gridman and several Ultra/Rider shows. There are also a bunch of Gundam shows regularly released for free on the official Gundam Youtube channel. I'd personally love it if GaoGaiGar came on, but you know that's not happening.

Why hasn't there been a good Digimon game since Digimon World 1? I don't get why they don't just remake it.

ReDigitize, Cyber Sleuth, and -next 0rder- were great games. Two out of those three also brought back the World 1 gameplay style
Let's take a look at these...

Digimon World Next Order

This is exactly what I don't want. DW1 was comparatively minimalistic for a jrpg. It had a weirdly bizarre world.

The plot was just "Bring anyone you find out in the wilderness to the center of the town, every one you bring back does something for the town". It wasn't a game with a linear story with characters with anime pngs talking to each other, that's the part I don't like. The whole "raise a digimon and make sure it shits correctly" part wasn't the aspect of DW1 I liked. It was just something I tolerated and could've easily been simplified and made way less tedious.

Next Order still has some of that, it does have a story but it's pretty easy to ignore.

That’s like, 80% of DW1 right there. So if you don’t like the main gameplay loop then what is it you *do* like and want in a new game?
When I played DW1 I minimized a lot of the tedious rpg aspects by reading a guide which told me exactly how to grind to get a Digimon that wasn't shit and how to get enough portable toilets so I didn't need to keep backtracking to toilets in the world. After I did that I was far more engaged in the game and finally beat it for once. I genuinely think if they simplified DW1's gameplay loop and removed the tedious grinding/backtracking it would've been a far more well regarded rpg outside of Digimon fans. Its worst aspect was how it explained almost none of its mechanics to the player. It's why I think it could be vastly improved by a remake that simplifies it's mechanics.

Next 0rder sort of did it with giving a free toilet everyday, allowing you lock evolutions, and telling you the requirements as you unlocked Digimon in the field. It's just too story bloated and the world doesn't feel as empty as the original DW1

If they remade DW1 and had all of those things, that's it peak Digimon rpg there. That's all that would be needed tbh.

Other things I'd add would be being able to visually display on the player's hud the requirements for a particular digimon you want and when you meet them. As it would avoid having to constantly keep checking and compare to a guide you found on the internet.

I'm not a fan of Gundam to be honest. I wish they could air Zoids. But sadly they won't.

Is there any chance they could ever get Yu Yu Hakusho? Ever since this block came back, the fans have been demanding it, and they even acknowledged it. But so far nothing.

This thread isn't about what shows you want to see on Toonami, it's about Digimon.
Unfortunately Digimon is fucking dead right now, so it’s only natural it may diverge. And to be fair, it started off by considering if Digimon could make it on there.

I mean the biggest thing to happen recently was the BD release of Beginnings, which has only annoyed me due to how long it’s been. I genuinely stopped caring about wanting to see it due to how fucking abysmal only having a literal weekend showing was, and all of the hype has long since been replaced with distain. If they’re not even going to show it here in the US for more than a week, don’t even bother. At least Kizuna was leaked and subbed well before release, so I wasn’t arbitrarily forced to wait in the era of simulcast.

Does it matter? There isn't really anything important about Digimon to talk about past 2004-ish, it's been dead for so long
