Digimon

I went for Harmony so, I actually had a rough time with everyone dying left and right (which is ironic, because it's the path whose choices made the most sense to me). Kinda sucks, considering I also had high affinity with everyone except Saki for some reason, who didn't even get her Ultimate.

Still wondering which path to do next. Right now I don't really feel the urge to go through the first 8 parts again to reach a different route though. And I know that if I do the Truth route, I won't end up doing Wrathful and Moral because it's too much work just to see something different.
Sounds like the paths diverge more than I thought they would at ch 8, I was picking mostly Harmony at the first part of the game but start leaning more to Moral at around the half way mark and never looked back.

Yeah, I had the same thing with Saki, my ending affinity with her was like 29, maybe saving Ryo will open more chances to work with her.

Have you played the Devil Survivor games from SMT? The structure is basically the same: common path for the first chapters (which is a slog in subsequent playthroughs), then you diverge into routes which work like their own stories.

Basically in Moral, everyone except Ryo and Shuuji survive. In Harmony, Ryo, Shuuji Miu, Kaito and Saki die, and I think in Wrathful Ryo, Shuuji, Aoi and Saki die (though I'm not 100% sure on this one). Truth is obviously the golden ending where everyone makes it alive.

So your only reliable teammate throught all the game is Minoru, but even he becomes unavailable at certain points in the story.

Yeah I absolutely love the Devil Survivor games, actually the thing that convinced to buy Survive was all the comparisons I was hearing between the two.

I guess I just wasn't suspecting so much difference between the paths as typically with games with diverging paths it's not that huge of a difference. Sounds like I was right to take moral than.

I usually think Digimon fans had a persecution fetish whinging over being called Pokémon ripoff all the time, but faggot journos and YouTubers like this asshole gives me feels. Most Mons anime has always been incredibly distinct from Pokémon but a paid shill will never give a shit to learn this and call all of them a rip.

Well, I lost brain cells after reading the second paragraph alone.

He uses too much false equivalency on his article because he clearly hasn't played enough to know what the fuck he's talking about. If you think the Pokemon comparison was bad, at one point he also compared the game to freaking Persona.

I'm actually kind of glad to see that people are shitting on him on the comment section Kotaku has. The fact that he probably gets paid to write those garbage articles makes me depressed as fuck.

It's typical modern day "journalism."

I don't normally give people shit for liking/disliking a video game and this game is definitely one of those games aimed at a specific niche and if you're not in that niche you're probably not gonna like it, but this review is shit and the "otaku of kotaku" deserves far more shit than he is getting.

Yeah Marc has a massive history of bullying people out of the Digimon fandom. He also loves to use the official WtW twitter account to push his personal views on the series. I remember he would mock and make fun of people for being disappointed over Digimon Survive getting delayed on the official Twitter account and when called out he’d hide behind the “it’s just a joke bro!”
He also stans Digimon Tri and will flip out over even the slightest criticism of it. It doesn't help that he’s also the admin of the Digimon subreddit so you really can’t escape this guy, he has a monopoly on all the major western Digimon outlets. Marc is the Serebii Joe of the Digimon fandom.

And he also hates ghost Game apparently. And one who thinks Tri is good should have their opinion discarded, especially if they're gonna be a sperg about. Someone I used to know told me they got banned from the WtW forum for disagreeing with the admin. Also went after Konoka for writing the silly Tamers play

Yeah I noticed his hatred for Ghost Game. Some of his news updates for the show started getting super snarky after awhile and it caused me to stop going to the site for Digimon news. It seems like he missed the memo that GG was made and advertised to be an episodic MoTW show. Between that and his shitty attitude towards Survive before it came out he seems to be antagonistic towards anything that isn’t related to Adventures. He also gets mad if people praise Habu, the director of the current Digimon games.

And while he throws a fit over Tri getting criticized he was perfectly ok with allowing memes mocking Tamers on the Digimon subreddit after the shit storm with Konaka’s latest play. He even joined in by tweeting the same memes on the official WtW account.

It sucks because WtW is really the only big site for Digimon news in the West.

The first two series have had unironically the BEST writing in cartoons. The archs went through first season were phenomenal.
I miss Fox Kids.
Yeah they don't make cartoons asgood as they used.
