Hey guys, so I found a sneak preview for the new Digimon anime.

The dude makes good videos but he needs a thicker skin. Speaking of die hard fans I’ve seen a lot more instances of people being nasty about GG and acting hostile towards its fans than actual die hard fans themselves.

Based Digimon is another Digituber and he loves to shove annoying memes and reaction gifs/pics in his videos.

The Digiknow has some good takes. I think he jumped the Ghost Game hype train but, like a lot of folks who did, are now realizing it was just monster-of-the-week mediocrity and almost zero main plot resolution.

Digiknow has also made some friendly comments on a few of my videos, so I'm a bit biased. I don't use Twitter, but as far as I can tell with his videos, he doesn't want to be too controversial.
 
I see. Looking back I was definitely too harsh on him in my last post. I’m just tired out with this fandom in general. Fandom discussions on the series in general stopped being fun a long time ago so I’m just a cranky old timer.
 
As much as I don't like Marc, I'm not going to lie it makes me pretty nervous, reading some of that stuff. Considering how much I've been into trying to gather evidence against him. Just so people would be able to have an idea of who they are dealing with. He's not going anywhere unfortunately.

I don't engage with the fandom much myself; often the most vocal ones just ruin it for everyone else because they want it to be their way or the highway. Plus, many are just consumer-based junkies who want to be attached to anything with "Digimon" in the title and they don't think too much about the periphery.

I gave my take on the modern TV franchise here. I also talk a bit about Ghost Game here. I'd love more input on this stuff as I continue, helps guide my thoughts and feelings forward.

I jumped ship from the fanbase long ago
 
Been into the franchise for a few years, decided one day i'd try engaging with the fandom outside of Japanese artists since I figured it's somewhat niche so surely it can't attract that many retards

Boy was I wrong and it's the same as any mildly popular fanbase, full of complete and utter retards, ranging from people seething about ghost game(which isn't that great but it's not the worst thing ever) the usual pronoun artist people going "TRANS RIGHTS" at every fucking moment, and nostalgiafags that hate anything that isn't adventure or tamers
and the situation with Konoka didn't help either and made me realize yea no this fanbase is as retarded as the rest and I haven't bothered since

Best thing the fandom has done was over reacting. Someone said he believes in conspiracies and they think all of a sudden he wants to 1488 the trannies (which he should). Funniest moment ever

Witnessing the shitstorm in realtime was something, you had the japs who didn't care and most even thought it was funny and knew it was one of those purposely silly things meant for comedic sake, while the westerns were seething and repeating the usual "anti vaxx bad right winger bad" shit and i even remember that one angewomon fanartist bitch blocking everyone who said based and some people malding at Konoka for liking tweets calling leftoids insane when everything happening was proving exactly that

watched the first and second show while they were airing on TV. i thought they were decent for what i remember. even had digimon the movie on VHS that i got got for charismas with the pokemon the third movie. we never got Tamers were i lived so that's when my interest of the series vanished. the show had some dark themes for a kid show and i heard the Japanese versions were even darker.

You should watch in the OJ (Original Japanese) for at least the first three seasons. Tamers, in particular, comes across entirely differently in its originality; the English dub really ruins a lot of it.


The OJ plays things off far more subtly, which leaves more room for interpretation. Throughout the OJ, there's this unspoken affection shared by both Ruki and Renamon which causes Ruki to come off a Tsundere while Renamon comes off as far more like the primal creature that she is. All the English dub does is make things "quirky" and treats the medium like its looney toons.

The United States is retarded about shit like that. For instance, the scene in the parking garage where Renamon scratches Gargomon's eyes. And the fact that they are required to censor scenes of guns being pointed at people. So, Gargomon pointing his gun at Ruki. That scene was painted over with digital paint... and one of my personal favorite part was censored out… The part where Beelzebumon is kicking Megidramon's chest plate and it shatters. That was a really brutal scene but they shouldn't have taken it out.

The term is subbed, as in subtitled. And ugh, I hate Ken's Japanese voice.

I largely blame a lot of everything wrong with American kids to dubs. Japanese kids are arguably more well adjusted. Emotionally repressed, but stable.

Yeah the dub changed a lot. People say it didn't because it kept the original Japanese names and locations mostly, but they pretty much made every character a sarcastic asshole. The movie was bad about this, cutting about 30 mins all to have that Angela Anaconda opening
