started watching og adventure a while back (only the pilot movie and first 2 episodes. wagtching dubbed though from my understanding fox/saban was nowhere near as autistic as 4kids when it came to changing stuff. first couple episodes are fine though the pilot movie was the shit. It also struck me as interesting that both the pilot movies for digimon and legend of the galactic heroes use bolero

I remember being disappointed at Tamers at first because I thought season 3 would follow the 01/02 kids' children but I ended up really loving it. Back in the day Digimon was my favorite show. Loved the first season, enjoyed the second season when I was young, though looking back I don't enjoy it as much. Gamers was great, and I'm going to go against general consensus online and say that I enjoyed Frontier. It's actually my favorite season after Adventure 1. Had its faults, but I still enjoyed it.

Part of the reason I enjoyed early Digimon was its awesome monster designs. As the years went on, the art style seemed to get "tamer", which is a shame as early Digimon designs had a unique feel to them.

I usually like it when voice actors reprise their roles, but the Japs take it too far. Kid Goku was voiced by a woman as a little boy for example, both in Japan and in America... but Japan decided that the (now elderly) woman who voiced him as a little boy should still be playing Adult Goku decades later. That's fucking stupid.

Subs are shit. If you speak one language, just listen to whatever weeb shit you watch in whatever language you speak. I highly doubt that any japs who watch American cartoons insist on watching them with the original English vocals and Japanese subtitles... Because that would be just as retarded.

Good picks. For me, it'll always be Wargreymon. The latest digivolution sequence for him is amazing.

I watched Digimon very casually. I can hardly visualize any Digimon and their names aside from Agumon. It's still pretty cool though and I'm going to get into the games soon.

I can't watch DBZ in anything but the Funimation dub, but I'd still take Z sub over Kai. Kai and Super are such trash in English, it's unbearable. Attack on Titan is the only other anime I have to watch subbed because of how bad the dub is.

You guys ever play Digimon World on Playstation 1? Shit was cash. They made an entire series of them and none of them were even close to the first one and I never udnerstood how they could have fucked the idea up so badly.

My friend tried to get me into Kai. Even the characters that they didn't get blatantly wrong by recasting them with worse actors (and there were many) still mostly gave worse performances.
I'd still take it over reading the dialogue on screen while the audio plays in language that I don't speak.

I guess I get that, but what about DBS? Universe Survival Saga was pure cringe in English. Might be the worst dub ever.
 
My fav would be Wargreymon and the black version. And later on Angewomon because I don't need to elaborate why;)

I prefer World 2. Just catch my attention more with how similar it was to Pokemon, with levelling and capturing them. Even though the exploration got old really fast because you just jump into dungeons, I also loved that you are able to upgrade your tank.

Never got into World 3. The beginning was so boring that I stopped playing altogether.

But at this point, I've stopped caring about this game. The multiple delays on it are disheartening enough to make me think it's not going to be anything special after all.

Unpopular opinion, but I liked Digimon World 2 more than Digimon World 1.

Both were pretty awesome though.

Oh great a Digimon thread!

I love Digimon. Saw Adventure as a kid when Pokemon was riding high and I thought it was way cooler than the Pokemon anime. That being said I have a bittersweet view of the franchise as a whole because of a digimon-themed tabletop game I got involved with that ended in absolute disaster and deterred me from wanting to take part in anything to do with ttrpgs afterwards.

My favourite digimon is the Andromon line. If I could have a partner you'd bet it would be this bad boy. He always had a perfect balance of creepy and cool.

I generally don't keep my hopes up but Survive looks interesting at least and I love the partner digimon choices. I'll keep an eye out for it if it's ever released.

Anyone ever played Digimon Digital Card Battle on PSX? That was also fun, despite I was a complete retard on card games. Closest thing to describe it is a Pokemon card game. No joke, it has gym battles called Cities, you battled against Digimon and also against human characters from the anime up to Season 2. Also in the beginning, you have three starter Digimon cards to choose from. Fond memories about it, even though I never finished it(think I was near the end game where I left off).
