Funny thing about Edge, he's actually a stolen character and a ripoff of Edgelord the Ignored, a character i threw into a shitpost parody of Sonic Legacy. Dillin just took the character and ran with it, but I didn't make it for him, it was just something i drew for shits and giggles. Come to think of it, "Edge Legacy" is also kinda a ripoff of my parody, so Dillin basically stole a bunch of my ideas and made them his own.

I guess Dillin needs to completely get rid of Edge because he's linked to the "evil, dangerous, pedophile."

"Nuh uh Jesse! Dillin didn't steal Edge!! He gave him new purpose from you the Aquaman loving pedophile grrr"

Did you ever speak to Dillin about Edge or did he just out of the blue steal it and made it his own mary sue? Was this before you guys met or did he just steal it while you guys were friends? Dillin had been using your character and nobody fucking noticed? The fuck is everyone on? If they knew the stuff you make wouldn't they see that too since Dillin was trying to merge your fanbases?

So who has the best first panel/page? Which comic does the best or worst job at grabbing the viewer and setting up the story?

My opinion: I hate to say it but I think Chris Chan does it better. While Lightbringer also starts with narration, Sonichu at least introduces a character and a plot right away. Lightbringer establishes a setting but no character and no plot. Dillin is the worst because I can't even tell what I'm looking at. The lack of color and direction just makes it look like grayscale vomit. How is that supposed to grab attention? Imagine being outdone by the very people you criticized.
Late, but I think Jesse's other comic deserves to be shown here to. It doesn't set the comic up, but it's a cool little hook. The art is also a bit less aids whether intentional or not. It's better than Sonichu on the grounds it isn't a text dump.

While we're at it

Drifting Edge, starts off showing these two random ocs, one of which is his "self insert", or "pet" oc if you prefer, and some bird. We see an Eggman face in the side of the building, and then several panels of just the characters upper bodies and dialogue, which seems to imply to Edge character is an uwu silly boy, which is weird because the comic is made out to be some grim dark war story.

Edge Legacy is obviously a rip on Sonic Legacy, but much, muuuuuch poorer quality. It's supposed to be the same first page from Sonic Legacy, but there's no distinguishable details. What little background there is looks like drunken modern out made out of broken Tetris blocks. If you're going to do a black and white comic, you have to put extra effort into making sure details are distinguishable, not just a mishmash of shapes to fill the empty space. And also there's Dillin's main oc because why not. (Also, the artist that worked on this issue kept auditioning for to work on Sonic Legacy, and we kept telling him no. You can see why.)

Sonic Legacy. You'd think I'd be biased, but honestly, I've never really been a fan of the first issue, or how the comic starts. It starts off nearly the same as Edge Legacy, except you can actually tell what's supposed to be going on. Sonic, doing some flips, catching some very sad looking chili dogs. At least you can *tell* what's going on, and that it's supposed to be taken place on a beach. You even see Tempest in the very first panel, in a floaty (Why?) in the water watching, so when she does show up on the next page, it's actually accounted for that she was there and saw what happened.

The first few issues on Legacy were already done before I joined, but I'll still say the writing and art on the first issue are two are pretty weak, but, compared to either of Dillin's Sonic related stories, it's *still* the cleanest and best represents the story that the comic is trying to tell. And yet Dillin made several videos.. oh, I'm sorry. *Jesse* made several videos shitting on Legacy, Dillin just happened to be on those videos also shitting on it, but he's totally not accountable, right?
Wasn't Edge Legacy a point to "make a better comic?" He should have known better than to rip it scene for scene. In the words of our good friend Dilldo, "That's fucking autistic"

Also you made Edge? Dillin has credited another artist for him in his description

Even though that's chronologically first the first comic was Duck V Run but all the same. Also I have no clue who Kira the Hedgehog is or what they're role in designing Edge was. My guess was refining the design with the white hair tips and the outfit Dillin chose. Also Dillin did take the name Edge from Edgelord the Ignored. I have no clue why he would wanna name a character that.. unless it was a parody character? But like in his comics he clearly isn't so.. I have no idea

Well, either way, it seems Dillin is going to have to shed even more his identity if he truly wants to get rid of anything remotely associated with Jesse. It will most likely only alienate his fans even more.

I think he's done with Edge and Sonic fancomics. It's all about The Cyclone now.
Maybe, unless his financial situation gets worse and he has no choice but to return to what worked. He was willing to do what he used to as a top tier patreon goal, I'm sure he would be willing to go back to it full time if he was at the brink of making 0 profit.

To be completely honest, I hope Dillin does continue working on The Cyclone. He's made a clear effort to try and put all this Sonic shit behind him and I agree that this is probably a better direction for him. Maybe not financially, but for his mental health. So I hope he does move on from Sonic, Chris Chan, Jesse and all the stuff in his past, stay focused on The Cyclone and make it better as it goes on. I don't want to see Dillin fall and suffer but at the same time, I think there are lessons to be learned, lessons that The Dillin Cycle has shown he has avoided learning time and time again. Who knows? Maybe this time it will really happen. One can only hope.

I wouldn't hold you breath, this is the same guy who picked a fight with Jim in his prime and got assblasted, years later made a video calling himself out for his own stupidity, only to then start the sperg war with awf not too long after. I would like to see Dillin grow as a person, but the dude still hasn't ever had a real job, is 25 with a failing YouTube career and has exhibited no situational self awareness

A few months ago I would likely agree with you, however I'm not too sure if I can say the same now. Personally I don't want to see anything horrible happen to him, but at the same time I think the only way he's going to grow as a person is if he fails. Hundreds of people are still praising him for his bad behavior and he's not going to straighten up unless he's knocked down a peg. Whether he loses his YouTube channel, his last remaining friends or even his home, I feel like he's never going to become a better person until he meets his lowest point and does some deep reflections on himself as a person.

For some unknown reason, someone gave Dillin 1/5 of $1000

:stress:
Enablers. People that want to see Dillin continue down this path for one of 2 reasons. 1: They genuinely want to see Dillin succeed on this path. 2: They know that more money will keep Dillin roped in, keep the Dillin Cycle in effect, slow his downward spiral and keep the lolcow entertainment lasting longer. Same reason people gave Chris money. Like you once said @Joe Swanson probably a little bit of column A, a little bit of column B.

Damn, man. I loved Dillin. He was my everything. He was the first thing I thought about when I woke up every morning and the last thing I thought about before falling asleep. I'm truly heartbroken how he's fallen.

For the past 5 years of this guy's YouTube career has been absolutely nothing but a scandal. Despite all the bullshit, I hope to God that Dillin gets his shit together and stop being so nasty and salty. I wish him nothing but the best. I love you.
