I think people are missing the point in regards to Chris trying to save face after the dimensional merge happens. Chris' reputation as a sorcerer or whatever will be the least of his troubles.

Chris will have bills and debts he hasn't paid because he's expecting Cwcville's coffers to cover him. That's what he's really going to be worrying about.

Chris isn't really the leader of this cult, he's one of its victims. And the leader's about to cut the cord and run to the next town.

Chris does seem pretty unconcerned about having his car repo'd and having zero means to replace it. I guess he figured he'd just fly everywhere after today.
