If what I heard is true, they are implementing the same kind of faggot ai that you might to witness in R6:Siege where certain wordcan trigger your profile to be insta-banned, would not make a difference if you have wrote or said the aforementioned word, the system monitors and recognize both ways.
So no, reporting someone would not play any significant role because the system will catch it all up on its own.
Still, wouldn't save the platform from all the pedos,zoophiles,troons and other degenerates all together.

I can confirm for you that Discord already uses AI to filter stuff, namely for NSFW content. I can also confirm that its ability to detect said NSFW imagery is iffy at best, since sometimes I can send NSFW images to my friends with no problems, while other times images that are completely work-safe get blocked for being "pornographic."

That should give you an idea as to how well this system will work once they implement it. Even if they need a human to review it, you know damned well these janny-trannies operate on a zero-tolerance policy towards gamer words, even in private conversations where no one was offended.

Yes. Soydev retards are (in)famous for overlooking shit, and modern Unicode has so many obscure character sets in it that it's almost impossible to wrangle as a good developer.
However, if these AIs are trained to recognize the word "nigger" regardless of the homoiconic characters substituted, it would not help a bit.

Thankfully, these measures are being applied to a gay platform that nobody should be using anyway.

One server I'm in likes to run movie nights, but DVDs and streaming services have something built in to prevent re-streaming much of the time, so they end up pirating films they already own just so they can watch them with friends. That would be my guess.

Just get Matrix, Matrix is the less inept, less gay, open source version of discord. Everyone on discord is a fucking coomer anyway and will jump ship if they start banning porn, they'll do themselves in like tumblr if they go that route.

Another alternative I have heard people shill is Guilded, which is very similar to discord already and would be trivial for people to jump from one to the other. Most of the features of Nitro Discord are on it for free, and the main downside at the moment seems to be attachments are limited to one per message only.

Also wanna point out this system is already being rolled out, and people are already being banned for auto-detected images even in empty servers.

The photo in the thumbnail is just a mockup, but the real deal is apparently very similar. It shows nothing really unusual other than some dude eating popcorn with a movie theater background but the alleged source is a video where later on CP/CSAM is shown and as such Discord flags it and bans you within a few minutes.

Or use Spacebar / Webcord which is literally the Discord UI but with a reversed engineered and self hosted back end. I'm sure there is plenty of jank all around but its the best option at this point, Discord but self hosted.

This is both a response to you & more of a general comment but uh...Literally switch platforms. If they refuse to switch then kill the server. I'm not even joking. You can host a matrix server on alot of stuff and you don't specifically have to use matrix either. Rocket chat is a thing, arguably tox chat but not really. Like legit, just get an dell optiplex or hell even something like a zimaboard and you can host your own matrix server for element. It can even interact with other servers if you really want it to and ddns takes care of any changing ip address issues.
