Discussion for the Fate of Weeb Wars as a Board

Agree that the board must appeal to a specific audience, though there is a sizable crossover among Drex, Balldo, Juju and the Ethan Ralph subforum. I think a redirect to Balldo and Juju's threads should be placed in the Ethan Ralph subforum, I don't know how to do it.

The board could include other orbiting idiot podcast types such as Quarter Pounder and various hanger-on grifters with some lawtube spergs splashed in. Another idea is to include these alt-tech grifting sites people use such as Kick and Rumble, I was going to make one of each for the Gunt board but I didn't see a point as he's not even the top 20 streamer there.

Downside is, we'd be making yet another IF-like board. The Ethan Ralph subforum already acts like one. I would try and avoid that scenario playing out.

This forum hasn't been about Rekeita/"podcast stuff" for a long time. Rekeita's thread was moved to another forum. Weeb Wars to me was like an anime version of GamerGate/ComicsGate/whatever where people were sick of hypocritical Twitter lolcow types trying to force their will on everyone and then other lolcows got involved (on both sides) because of the controversy. It wasn't just about podcasts, and obviously that type of bullshit will continue until there's some kind of paradigm shift that makes people stop listening to fat SJW types.

Pool and Breadtube are too political to mix with nerd and pop culture fritter ans anti-SJW. Politics would ruin the whole board. This is why I asked what The delineation for 'Culture War' would be.

I am liking the idea of 'Podcast Race War: Preparing for the boogaloo against the 13%' forum for pol spergs.

My opinion:

If they talk pop culture ans why Marvel/Disney or Bethesda sucks they go in Culture War. If they use that to inject their politics as a reason the game/franchise is bad, still Culture War.

If they want to talk about how the shitlibs own Hollywood and are turning the frogs gay to win elections and established the NWO: Podcast Race. If they use pop cutlre to show how Schwaub and Epstein own the media, Podcast Race.

IF can be for generally notorious personalities. I like Podcast Race Wars to contain pol spergs like Chicken Rancher Beanie Boy Pool and Culture Wars for people like TUG and YellowFlash who are more GamerGate adjacent.

I don't know if we want to open 2 new forums, bit we should at least draw a clear line between Pol sperg culture warriors who LARP in tac gear and SJW anti-Sarkesians who play with dolls.

I'm sold on this idea. I think that whole genre of people need to be mocked a lot more. I would like to incorporate the retarded thumbnails they all do for their videos somehow.

I don't want Rekieta to have his own board, seems like it would feed his persecution fetish. I do think that anime has to be contained, less it infect other sections.

Grift wars sounds like a good idea. Rekeita doesn't get his own board, and he gets thrown into the sewage stew with Hambeast and ReviewDKOldiesUSA.

Hell, you could fold the manosphere in, since that's just a grift vector.

Culture wars implies a culture. These vulture faggots want to tear everything down and live in an abandoned toys r us full of fucko pops. For them, the 90's are right around the corner, if they wish hard enough.

I'm still laughing at the balldo icon. Can't unhear Jim grifting "Make sure to buy a hat!" Sadly I don't think 'Culture War/riors' is that funny of a title but it's hard to think of one that is. Breadtubers/Debate me bros should be included imho. Honestly lost count how many times I've heard a paraphrase of "We need to fight back against the *insert culture/political group here* ... support us! Buy our coffee!" from those types.

The concerns people have of it turning into another Internet Famous board are valid. I'm far more concerned it would become Thunderdome II: Electrocute Jigaboo...

Agree on expanding (not closing!) the board to "Culture Wars" - I personally am leaning against woke but damn the grifters are fucking unbearable. Anime, movies, TV - all that shit goes in here.
 
Scrolling down the threads, they're almost entirely related to Vic Lasagna or Balldo adjacent

I say shut it down and see where the users migrate to, analyze the migration and see if it justifies a new board.

I think it'll split to Rekieta's thread or Lolcow LLC.

I could see the utility of a culture war / podcast race board. A lot of that stuff is on multimedia or whatever other random corner.

I could also see the utility of a Japan containment board, or Asia containment- Korea is becoming more and more relevant in culture, and C-dramas and C-Pop well, they're trying in China, with more success in the dramas. Also, it would be a funnel for v-tubers as others have mentioned and maybe a subforum for those degenerates (myself included). Maybe call it Oriental Cooming Company or something, IDK. Lands of the Rising Fun, Hey Now You're a Wokstar, Discriminasian...

Making a culture wars forum seems fine to me.

If it's closed the only things I'd like to see would be Marz and Vic have internet famous threads. I don't want to really give Marz that much attention though, so I lean to a broadened board but to keep the top cows in Weeb Wars in whatever that turns out to be.

I do like the idea of a "culture wars" board but where exactly would you draw the line between something that belongs here or something that belongs on another board like "Internet Famous"? What if it's a furry internet personality who makes political videos essays? What board would you put that in? Wouldn't the inherently political nature of the board make it more suited for the Autistic Thunderdome section?
 
I support making it a Culture War subforum and moving related threads there. I have a general interest in all the cows (ComicsGate cows, Quartering, Az, et al.) involved in that trashfire.

I had the same question and I think the end goal should govern.

Using Star Wars as a metaphor for the fall of the United States, is pol sperging.

Claiming the D's own Hollywood and that is why Disney sucks, is ner culture war.

We should get a bit more specific with the name to make sure it covers 'pop culture' culture and not 'Jews will not replace us' culture war.
