Was it never stated in the source material bad little girls get sent elsewhere? I figured the boys went to the Pleasure Island that was shown, but the girls had their own little island and have their own body horror transformation (probably not into donkeys, though).

No, only boys go to Pleasure Island in the book. In old children's books you never had bad little girls as you did bad little boys. Thus why in the Disney film Pleasure Island lets you drink and smoke and commit violent mayhem - all very masculine...

I wonder what the female equivalent would be?
 
Oh look another retelling of the same story but with CGI and live action. People in the Youtube comments are actually excited to watch this even though they've seen the original pinocchio - just watch the original fucking Pinocchio. Goldfish-brained consoomers.

Drink and smoke while forming vicious cliques and either harassing or flirting with the guys. And then literally burn it down because you can do worse than just throw bricks through windows. Which is why I thought it was always riduculous how old things portray girls as these little saints considering how awful some of the girls I went to school with were.
