I love this movie. It's considered one of the most faithful adaptations of the fairy tale and has a lot of work put into it. Shame it often gets put onto those bootleg Disney dvds designed to trick grandmas into buying them for their grandkids.Better yet, watch a version closer to the original story!
Long after man kind ends be in the next few generations or several millennia, what will be left of us to be found by our successors? Will we be remembered as the species that developed entire cultures and civilizations that reached heights of grandeur that only one out of 8 rocks orbiting the sun was able to achieve? The original film is in a secure vault meant to preserve historically important movies for a reason - and this sorry excuse of a copy will never, ever join it.
Don't worry, this film is going straight to Disney+. You remember that Lady and the Tramp remake from years ago? No? That's how well the film's going to do.This is either going to be a hit like the Lion King remake or a bomb - and knowing the type of people who like Disney nowadays, I'm going to guess right now it'll be a hit.
Now there's an idea... Disney's Pinochet, starring the lovable dictator who gleefully murders his enemies in stadiums and his Nazi pedophile buddies.I’m waiting for the Disney Pinochet movie to be worse than that gay voiceover one.
I'll let @Belvedere take this one:
Trying to Americanize Europe, one country at a time. When the image of the blue fairy first popped up it made recoil just out of sheer incredulity. Then a second later it sinked in and I realize this is the norm now. I'm disappointed in myself because I should have seen it coming.
I think the part that took me aback the most wasn't the fact that she was black, but that she was bald. So Disney cannot even afford us the leniency of feminine beauty, not even for the benefit of the black actress playing the role.
Imagine being Italian and seeing this trailer. My God, this goes from cultural appropriation to cultural vandalism.
Plus, it seems blondes are next in the chopping block after redhead roles got the ax these past few years.

you know that "african american" ugly ass statue in new yorkWhen the image of the blue fairy first popped up it made me recoil just out of sheer incredulity. Then a second later it sinked in and I realize this is the norm now. I'm disappointed in myself because I should have seen it coming.

This one? What was the one version of Pinocchio that was made in europe about 20 years ago were this grown man played pinocchio?
I wonder if this new version will be compared to that?
Yes, apparently Pinocchio was even played by the director too. Imagine making a film for Miramax only to find out the truth about Harvey Weinstein. This one?
In defence, Roberto did win an Oscar for making this film, also released by Miramax.Yes, apparently Pinocchio wasby the director too. Imagine making a film for Miramax only to find out the truth about Harvey Weinstein.
...I genuinely cannot tell if that's just a very unfortunate-looking flat-chested woman or a troon. Poor bitch looks like RuPaul.
It probably will. The film won awards in Italy but if I remember correctly the Italian public knew the film and awards were Roberto's one huge ego trip and hated it. Knowing the ego modern Disney films have I'm sure Italians won't like it either. What was the one version of Pinocchio that was made in europe about 20 years ago were this grown man played pinocchio?
